Wales were within a missed drop goal of beating these. Just saying. Quite clearly SA didn't bother getting out of 2nd gear to beat Wales. The score line was immaterial, they beat you and you didn't get to the final, just like you never have. SA obviously upped their game against England and played most of it in overdrive. They knew they had to do that to stand ant chance of winning. Both scenarios are probably ridiculous. The fact remains that SA beat both Wales and England. There's no shame in that, and we can both be proud of what we achieved in this World Cup. So SA *let* Wales have a crack at a drop goal with 5 minutes left to take the lead and then casually won by 3 points because they couldn’t be arsed to get out of second gear? Okay mate. SA didn’t even need first gear today, you played your final last week and SA played their final last week too. As for playing in a final ask your manager whether he sees losing in a final as being something to be proud of, he has turned losing a World Cup final into something of an art form after all. Basically if you aren’t going to win it you are better off going home early like Ireland and France and getting some rest in for the club rugby season. History won’t remember that England lost, it will remember that SA won.

Anyway, bollocks to this football and Eddie Jones-esque bad loser crap. Let’s have some class and agree that we both came up short against SA, take it with good grace and look forward to an interesting six nations that at this point is hard to call.

I'm not particularly into rugby but would have been pleased if we had won, but to be honest Im not at all arsed that we didn't. I don't agree re your comment about better to go home early, you should always strive to go as far as you can in any competition. in the last Euros wereyou upset bcause Wales didn't go out early? From the level of gloating from all the Taffs at wrk it didn't seem tha way to me.

Probably for sure, that made me laugh. I think ENGLAND will , if anything, play better. We hammered them in the warm up games and fast Eddie seems more with it and exudes a quiet confidence that I’ve not seen in him before plus we have cut out the silly penalties. I expect SA to try their kicking game, as did Wales but this is a totally different squad, in mindset and skill levels. I feel pretty darn confident of a sound victory. We really have learned from our mistakes Pa ha! @ "probably for sure" I hope you're right - worth a flutter on SA though.. just to ease the pain if we lose Won £200 .. not ideal.. would have preferred England to take the lead at some point so I could have bet on South Africa to win with better in-play odds. Hey ho.. at least we got further than Wales (in their National Sport)
