Good post but in the end whoever is appointed I doubt if style of play will come into it, it will be about economics and who’s cheap enough. Strangely that doesn’t particularly worry me. Don’t like to show GC any disrespect by discussing replacements when he’s not gone (but he opened Pandora’s Box with his interview) but a Chris Hargreaves and Lee Mansell pairing would have my support. UTG! Sorry for the stupid question, but Mansell is still with us right? No question is a stupid question with us! Yes, I think so, I’m sure so. Unless anyone knows differently. UTG!

Strangely,when we were last at Mansfield and they had a couple sent off-we had Jermaine dismissed wrongly- Manse was skipper and stood up to their gamesmanship brilliantly,leading by example.Great we wore the quarters away from home that day.Snakey scored a late winner and Gosling went on a mazy run beating several defenders.Brian Jensen played in goal for them now coaching at Shrewsbury.One of our many on loan keepers that day dived five minutes late after their opening goal hit the net!!!! but abiding memory was Manse who stood up to everything their ex City player Nicky Hunt tried with his intimidation techniques.Hunt was belatedly sent off. Jensen pictured. Attachment Deleted

Martin Dobson is available A more realistic target than Tony Pulis ! I reckon he might take it if he thought it was the right move for himself. I doubt the money would be an issue, it's not like he isn't a multi-millionaire already.

Ollie would be a weird choice given that our last two managers have both bemoaned a lack of financial backing from the current owners and Ollie has written on a few occasions in the BP, urging the owners to give them that backing.

I've gone off Holloway as well tbh. loves the teds and seems to have an opinion on everything these days;
Ian Holloway: 'Any Bristol Rovers fan who insults Matty Taylor insults me too'
Never really helped us out with players, in fact quite the opposite with Jermaine Easter.
Fake Gashead, next...

Daft thing is Ollie would probably put 1,000 on the gate for Saturday, even though he could well be an inferior manager to GC. He would probably put more than that on there. The ones staying away would come back, he no doubt would get the Mem rocking and that will bleed into the fans. He would also chuck the kitchen sink at getting us promotion to try and pay the ghosts of 99/00. Penrice has also left QPR... Good spot or a bit of inside knowledge? www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/gary-penrice-departs/Just a coincidence or what?

After the disappointment of the GC announcement last night and the way this has been handled - I feel the whole situation stinks. This has been going on a while and frankly GC I held you in high regard, but now I want to see the back of you ASAP. I thank you for turning the playing side of the club around and will be forever grateful but I really feel you've 'watered on your chips' in the way you and Mansfield have handled this. So good luck at Mansfield but I hope we, as club, do not have the misfortune of meeting you are your new club any time soon.
Last night I felt that Tony Craig would be a good appointment as an interim Manager to maintain continuity, but thinking about it I would like to see Nathan Jones given the job. I thought his team last season were by far the best team to visit the Mem particularly with his attacking wing backs - I think they were the highest scoring team in the league - linking his style of football with what we already have would be great. He managed a team on limited resources and achieved much - perhaps the step up to Stoke just didn't fit but I feel an appointment here would be ideal for both parties. He's also not a Northener - Welsh I believe. Also does he have a connection with Tom Gorringe from their days at Brighton?

I don’t think Ollie would be a good choice personally, I would think it will be Hargreaves and Mansell at least til the end of the season. When JCH goes and there is no money to spend in Jan it will take someone with thick skin to take us forward. Until this time next year when it will all happen again!

Fake Gashead, next... So by your barometer Holloway has to hate Taylor and to have given loans to us over the years, to still qualify as a Gashead? Maybe in a professional capacity he wasn't able to provide loans to us, maybe he had little power in those situations anyway? I agree he should probably have kept his mouth shut regarding MT, but to say he's a fake Gashead simply because he disagreed with the foul treatment of the bloke by some Gasheads, is just wrong in my view. I dislike MT for what he did, but I don't think Ollie disagreeing with me means he's not a Gashead. Some people get so offended over these things. The whole "well they can f**k off then" vibe just comes across as spiteful and childish.

Hargreaves has to be the favourite and from what he has done whilst at the club, may turn out to be a good choice

He's also not a Northener - Welsh I believe. Also does he have a connection with Tom Gorringe from their days at Brighton? The problem with change mid-season is that you are stuck between planning for the short term or the long term. During close season Jones would make a great appointment, if massively unrealistic. But even if he would come here and work for the wages and the budget and the facilities, are we willing to potentially throw away our tilt at promotion while he tries to get a quality tune out of players who have been coached in how to win via the arts of the ugly side of the game? I hate the idea of what I am about to say as when GC got us to the summer I championed long term thinking at the club by sending GC on his way with a handsome bonus and trying to install a DOF who provide continuity between managers and implement a footballing philosophy. But no, we doubled down on GC and here we are a few minutes later back up sh** creek as we were a year ago. But it really does seem our best approach is to try and maintain continuity. GC doesn't seem to have a discernible strategy apart from getting 100% out of the players so with that in mind Tony Craig seems the best option to try and basically do a GC impression until the end of the season. We probably need him playing too though which represents a major hurdle to be overcome.
