Nice one Ian.

As much as I wanted Holloway back here , I’m still very happy with Garner and I think (hope) he’s the man to push us on from here on out. Good luck to Ollie but we’ve got Warner now so I’m going to back him 100% UTG !!!!!!! Who, do you mean Shane Warner? Could do with him to put a bit of a spin on our off field activities or rather the lack of them!

Which manager would you back the most to succeed this season? None of them TBH. All are pretty hard jobs in a competitive league with some teams above them who are running along quite nicely.

There's no way ollie is investing in Grimsby Town football club 🤣🤣🤣 it's a strange move for him and family if they all choose to relocate to the area but I cant see they will. I dont see it being Ollie's last job not at all and personally I can see him having one more go as manager at the Gas in 24 months time if we/hopefully get new owners! This bit on the GTFC website is particularly strange / bizarre / worrying, especially just after he moved back to our area and spend loads doing up the house (near me, in Box) - “Ian and Kim have committed to selling up and moving into the area, seeing Grimsby as a long-term project. He will also acquire shares in the club and will commit to attending full board meetings.” I love a bit of positivity but I seriously feel this will fall as flat as a pancake.

Good luck to Ian. See City fans trying to make fun of Holloway over this, he’s had to lower his expectations over what job he could get, meanwhile Steve Cotterill still thinks he’s a candidate for a top job, and will have to sit at the job centre until he does exactly what Holloway’s done. Who gives a flying what those Sh1!heads think?

Good luck to him but I lost respect for him when he said to us “You have to call me as I need to feel wanted” Let’s see how long he lasts there .. Based on the comments that the family are moving up to Grimsby and he is investing in the club, I hope it is a while, as if they sell their property in Bristol they'll possibly struggle to buy back down south again. I should imagine that Holloway has a good few million stashed away. He has always followed the money, as a player and manager. Being able to buy a property down south sometime in the future will be the least of his worries.

Ollie's playing career after us included those huge payers if Brentford, Wimbledon and Torquay, if I remember rightly. His only 'big move' was when Dobson sold him to QPR. They were in the top flight, so probably a case of career advancement rather than "following the money". Fair enough not wanting him to be our manager again, but I don't understand the constant putting down of a Rovers legend.

Just watched the 2 minute video of ollie on sky sports and I cant help feeling that although he states that " I just couldn't turn this opportunity down and what a fantastic club/fan base Grimsby has bla bla bla" hes clearly gone for this position as a 2nd choice to us. He waited until there was no hope in the rovers position as he would have signed earlier for them as he claims talks have been going on for 3+weeks. I am slightly bitter because I wont lie I wanted ollie back as manager but to say he chose Grimsby over us is ridiculous.

Best of luck Ollie. Hope he does really well, hope we haven't missed the boat. He, in my opinion, was arrogant in saying he would not apply for rovers but that we had to call him. We haven’t missed anything and he keeps contradicting himself on the topic. His brief interview on the Grimsby job is much different in nature to when he was linked to the vacancy with us Yes, he made a major tactical error there in thinking he was a big shot. Which he is in the eyes of many fans, but he means nothing much to the owners, and his 'call me if you want me' approach looked a bit too arrogant. Shame, I thought, because I would have loved to see him back until the end of the season as a start. I think he could have talked himself into the job at the interview, but he handled it all wrongly.

I didn’t want Holloway back but got nothing against the bloke met him A couple of times seems like a decent enough chap and will be ever grateful for what he did for us as a player and good luck to him in the future.

All credit to him i say for taking on a tough job.
I had no opinion on him becoming our manager but also no issue with him not applying for the job. His record is there for all to see so a club that was interested could invite him to an interview. Makes sense to me. I mean he got promoted out of the championship twice i think?

He left us to play for them in the premier league and ran their midfield on the way to helping them become the highest placed London club in the Prem that season. He had a fantastic career as a player and a good one as a manager. Fair play to him.
