I suspect he will go to Grimsbury and expect the local press and radio to lick his famous feet. I hope it isn't something he is going to regret. Going to manage Grimsbury, not have his feet licked.

Seems to be going very well for him at Grimsby. The fans and the owner adores him already, and he's just been given more power at the club. www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/grimsby-town-john-fenty-day-3887817It does make you wonder whether Rovers missed the boat big time by not reaching out to Holloway. In truth, I never expected Wael to bring him in. There's no way Wael or Starnes could deal with somebody like Ollie. Can you imagine Ollie's reaction when Wael unveiled the master plan of giving up on promotion in order to implement a new playing style? In the meantime the seniors get bombed out to make way for the kids. I couldn't see Ollie having it, he wants to win. I think BG is probably grateful for his first management opportunity and would not push back against Wael and Starnes, and I don't blame him for that.

I really hope it goes well for him in Grimsby. He's had a lot of managerial success (and a few failures also) and he could be a very good fit for them. I don't think he was right for us any longer. There's just too much history and any period of poor performance here would have had a number of supporters jumping on his back.
Having said all that, the current regime has, in my opinion, had a remarkably easy ride bearing in mind our slide into consistent mediocrity since Christmas.

That's part of the disappointment with BG because you think what might have been. I know Holloway divides opinion but at a minimum he would have brought energy and commitment in stark contrast to where we are now.

I was in Grimsby today for a meeting.
2 of the people I met were avid Grimsby fans.
Apparently Ollie has purchased shares in the club so is now on the board as well as the manager. He is getting involved in the local community with regular visits to schools and hospitals. He has lifted and galvanized the whole town and the people I met were absolutely buzzing.
They say he has put 1500 on the home gates and increased the away following massively.
With regards to the ground the council demolished an area of high rise blocks and cleared the site and it would appear this is where the new stadium will be.
The Grimsby chairman has become involved in local politics so has resigned so as not to have a 'conflict of interest' (Ollie purchased some of his shares to add to the ones he initially purchased) and is pushing in his new position to get the stadium done.
The Grimsby fans are really confident it will get built sooner rather than later.
