It's good to see that finally a manager is going to build his team around the most intelligent footballer we have in Tom nichols, with this pace on the flanks you watch Nichols flourish

Thought those in the know said we had already agreed to sell 3 or 4 player's, before the window opened?? That we wouldn't pay on now transfer fees and that we were not paying supplier's etc. Welcome to the club, hopefully he will be a good addition and give us more of an attacking threat. Him in the loan signing, should give us more of a plan B. We were getting results, but if a game was not going our way, we had no way of changing it. There were 100 witnesses at the Blue Diamond dinner who heard it. Except the guy from the other forum who was there but said it's all bullshit. And the other 99 witnesses haven't come forward. All the doom and gloom was put about by Coughlin as one of his reasons to leave the club. There is no doubt in my mind that he had been in discussions with Mansfield at this point and was looking at ways he could justify walking out on us. All that bollox about his family was just a smoke screen, and because we had knocked back Mansfields approach he threw teddy and spat his dummy and made his statement on the Ipswich pitch, thereby forcing the issue. Hes gone now, and if that's the sort of person he is, then we're probably better off shot of him. The blokes an Arsehole ( got that, BB) and as far as I'm concerned he compounded his Arsehole rating to AA+ with that toe curling interview with 20man. lets hope that Ricky Gervais can bring us a better style of football other than the agricultural although effective style that the Arsehole gave us. Perhaps then the fans will start to return. It seems that Coughlin and Radford at Mansfield deserve each other, and I hope their enterprise is a dismal failure and Coughlin gets to spend a whole lot more time with his family.

Its encouraging to read that BG has been watching this lad for some 18 months and that TW and his staff have been monitoring him as well. It seems they are singing off the same hymn sheet which can only be good news. Perhaps our days of signing ageing journeymen in search of the last pay cheque are finally over.

Oh really, he is out of contract, i didnt realise. And yeah i just feel when ever i have watched games, he tries to play the right way, gets the ball down always tries to play forward.

Why not just wait to post that once the windows closed and JCH etc are still here? As far as style of play I sense (& hope) we've seen the last of 5 at the back at the Mem. If we get a decent offer for any player, they will be sold. Same at every level. People said deals had already been agreed though. So if that was the case, they would have been sold already. So it was obviously bull. I won't judge how good the window has been, until it's shut and until I have seen the player's play. Fed up of all the made up rubbish though. Aimed at causing a rift at the club.

Happy with this signing - welcome aboard Josh, and well done BG and backroom team.

Also apparently watched ever Rovers game during that period, perhaps they were both using the same hymn sheet as well as singing from it hence why the BoD didn't try and talk GC out of leaving!

Very excited about this lad singing as he looks a player along with a strong build. Exactly what we have been crying out for in terms of position and quality! I cant quite believe we've got the lad from derby too! Give us another 3 players coming in with the calibre of these two and we might yet still have a sniff at the playoffs.

Really chuffed with this signing, hopefully hits the ground running and gets the promotion campaign back up and running. Good name as well Barrett hopefully a little bit of Micky in him.

Wouldn't mind a few more like him.

Yeah I’m starting to lean towards BG being lined up a fair while ago, perhaps because of Coughlan touting himself about over the summer. I’m not sure if Coughlan jumped or was pushed but it seems clear that our quick response was no coincidence.

I cant see that we pushed GC out but all of this has seemed a little strange considering the attendances dropped so low even with us riding high in the league. I certainly don't think GC did it for his career neither do I think he went for family reasons so maybe he thought he was bigger than the club and the owners said on your bike?

Like Tony Craig. Wouldn't mind a few more like him. Tony don't do 'journeyman'. How dare you! Agree with both. TC has been a great signing. He knows his limitations and his experience has shone through over the last two seasons. Alfie K and Rollin M and Tom D are all better players for playing alongside TC. Don’t need too many experienced players coming to the end of their careers but Tony C has been the exception. Don’t know but I bet he’s a great manager of the players in the background and just the sort of character BG needs at the moment. UTG!

I’m assuming no ITKers have any idea of the fee we paid?

Good signing hopefully, but what actually made you want to sign for bristol rovers? the fantastic training ground? the wonderful tents or the sausage rolls, answers on a postcard please.

I’m assuming no ITKers have any idea of the fee we paid? I'll start. £125k with 25% sell on fee. That's a Gaschat fact not an actual fact.
