BG says today 'I’m constantly assessing everything here. Not just the players, but the staff. Who will take this his club forward, who’s got the desire to do well, who’s going to buy into what I’m trying to do?'
Sounds like it's not just the players who might be struggling with our new managers methods.
Must be a bit concerning to be told you are being assessed for 'buy-in' ?

Any new manager would be doing that to be fair. Where our novice is getting it wrong is coming out and saying it in a way that can only demotivate everyone involved in the club it seems. If he isn't going to be sacked, or leave of his own accord, BG desperately needs an old head to help and mentor him.

Every chance each one of them is bombed out in the summer.
The club are preparing to clear the decks...

True, but is it wise to go public and say that staff are being assessed for 'buy-in' as they infers lack of commitment. Not good man management to talk in those terms.

Well, somebody has to carry the can.

It would probably help if they knew what he was trying to do before buying into it.

Agreed, that's what I said in my second sentence.

Yes Rod, all managers do that it’s just they keep their counsel to themselves and don’t go and put everyone under pressure, including himself by publicising it. And at the moment the person being judged and assessed and doing poorly is.....himself. Unless the owners and himself are aware of a plan that the rest of us don’t know which is probably the case. Jeez, the more you look at it the worse it gets. UTG!

Think it happens in most jobs these days. I remember when in my office job role there was a change of manager 3 times in as many years, each with their own ideas of how the job is done. There were some who couldn’t or wouldn’t adapt & they either left or changed roles. Ultimately they are the ones to carry the can. Although in the case with this club, we have an owner who is out of his depth & a CEO who is scared to bring in experience in case he gets found out - so as much as a lot of us feel there should be a change, there probably won’t be, and if there is Starnes will only go for a short term internal appointment. Having said that, what experienced manager would take the role in the club’s present state.

Is he trying to make me dislike him even more?
If Mansell leaves the club because of Garner I'll be f*cking livid.

Reading between the lines it seems like Steve Coppell is taking an increasingly active role in things whilst the other coaches are being sidelined a bit. Apparently Garner talks to Coppell “4 or 5 times a week”
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Hargreaves and/or Maher and/or Mansell get the boot in the summer and Coppell being offered a permanent role.

Under-pressure (externally at least) new manager looking to stamp his mark across all level of the clubs. Similarly-aged ex-club legend with an eye on moving into management. Doesn't take a genius to figure out how this one is going to end.

Christ the arrogance of this man!!! Thinks he's Guardiola FFS.
Listen Garner...
- YOU HAVE NO MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE. ZERO.
- YOU TALK A GOOD GAME, BUT YOU ARE INCAPABLE OF BACKING IT UP
- AS PER WARNOCK'S COMMENTS, YOU ARE A "GOOD" COACH - THAT IS ALL
- YOU HAVE TAKEN A TOP 6 SIDE AND TURNED THEM IN TO THE WORST PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM IN THE COUNTRY IN A MATTER OF MONTHS
PLEASE, I BEG YOU - GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
