I think it's class to see a player showing loyalty in Kyle Bennett.

Disappointed about Ogogo but not surprised. Whilst I agree he'd be a good option to have, you've also got to imagine there needs to be some 'balancing of the books' now given our numerous incomings and he is unfortunately the most expendable of the more out of favour midfielders (and presumably a decent salary to get off the wage bill too). Wish him well if he does leave but would be happy if he's still a part of the squad on 12th September.
Less said about Bennett, the better.

I feel that since he has been at the club Abu has been our most effective midfield player, letting him go is a really bad mistake in my opinion I can see it's entirely possible we play our first six league games, and it becomes apparent we need a bit of steel in midfield. I can't see what our options will be.

Don't forget we've got Mehew at CM too. Looked decent against Farm on the weekend I think we do need to remember this was a team five leagues below us, who've not played in 5 months and were chasing round professionals in 28 degree heat. Yeah absolutely. Sterner tests ahead!

Big mistake if we let Ogogo leave IMO and back to worrying about Garner's naivety again if so. Negativity? Ogogo was hardly a punching forward attacking midfielder was he? Unless I've got the wrong end of the stick? Maybe I've spelt it wrong but I meant Naive lol - not negative

I agree to a certain extent. I guess it depends if we've got anybody else lined up as a replacement? I liked Ogogo, the same with Sercombe, I rated him and he was a good player for us, but to progress sometimes you have to be ruthless if a chance to bring a better calibre of player is available, I think Zain Westbrooke is certainly an upgrade. I guess we'll wait and see. Think Grant is lined up for that spot, Cam Hargreaves can also play the role, sad to see but evolution Yes good point! Blimey, forgot about Grant - hard to keep up with the plethora of signings we've made!

Gutted about Ogogo but I wonder if that’s simply because it’s easy to like a passionate, chest thumping type player. I guess it is but I also think we need that. It’s league one after all. Hey ho I don’t have my UEFA A but I can flip 18 beer matts.

So any player that might question the boss is all but gone. After Agogo goes expect JCH to go and our season will start with no punch up front, pretty but inaffectual footy

I had Ogogo down as a potential captain next year, disappointing if he leaves Scored a great winner at Shrewsbury for us against his former club.Liked him.

If Bennett doesn't find a club in this window his football career is over. If he was serious about being a footballer he should have agreed a wage drop with Swindon when they were interested. Now...who wants a high wage player with little match experience over the last 3 years ?

There are games next season when we could really do with the Midfield bite that Abs gives us ... Will be sad to see him go as really liked the fact he gave his all every game.
Will do a terrific job for someone next year .... hopefully not against us.

I know, his salary for that doesn't help though right? I think he’s overpaid and stealing a living but that’s down to having an agent who got him a good deal and our club paying over the odds for him. I don’t really blame him for earning good money. A bit like I don’t blame Taylor for going to the sh** to set himself up for life. I blame Lansdown and Danny Coles , Taylor not so much , footballer is a very short career. Why are you blaming Danny Coles? He’s nothing to do with Taylor

A few people have made the JCH connection. Presumably because they might be house mates?
These things always depend on how they handled. For instance- Zain Westbrooke was signed by us because he wants to play more football at a standard hes likely to start at vs less football at a higher level.
Perhaps Ogogo is similar. Weve signed two midfielders that you imagine are likely to start and then- you have Ogogo, Upson and Hardgreaves perhaps fighting for the final position... perhaps hed like more football than that equation. Or perhaps weve received interest and an open dialogue has lead to it being believe that it might be better for everyone if he moved on.
Personally- If Abs was to leave without replacement I think it's an error. By my count we would have 4 centre mids:
- Upson - Westbrooke - Grant - Hardgreaves
I class Barrett as a wide/ AM. Imo for a team that's likely to play 3 in the middle- youd want to have 5 CMs. Perhaps Cain Harries is seen as a utility option for defensive duties?

Sad to see Ogogo on his way. I guess it boiled down to him or Upson and the manager has made his choice. I must say it wouldn't have been mine.
Bennett has to be loaned out with Rovers paying a hefty percentage of his wages. Thank goodness we are in the last year of his contract! He was a truly awful acquisition and expensive with it.
