So we have won a game and some are beginning to believe. Belief and confidence is built by hard work on the training ground and winning football matches. We wait to see if one victory can be built upon to calm the many who want to win with entertaining exciting football matches. It’s not too late to sim high.
It’s time to set a mini target for this manager if he is to keep the confidence some of us feel today. In our next six games there are plenty of winnable games. If we are to be in and around the play offs we would expect to best teams in mid table and below.
With this in mind Burton, Shrewsbury, Accrington and Rochdale are targeted winnable games. If we truly believe these targets should our minimum. How many points would you expect in next six games. We need to start aiming high and set targets that lead us to a play off position nothing less. I don’t expect points against Lincoln or Hull. If the manager wants our confidence renewed then 12 points from 18 might give us all hope.
We are all watching. I’m not expecting anything ground breaking in terms of points but it’s realistic to expect us to win against mid table and teams below. Anything less and we are sure to be asking questions. Anything more and we might have found the answer. How we play is, if course, also important , but winning is what matters to give us breathing space and time.
Over to Ben & team to aim high and surprise.

Given the term 'reasonable' has been used then 2 wins 2 draws 2 losses would be OK....
8 points from 6 games wouldn't be a disaster....

I would be happy with ten and very happy with 12. Anything less than eight would be very disappointing.

12 points = 2 PPG. Over the rest of the season this would leave us on 88 points, which would have us finishing third or higher for the last three (full) seasons. Yet you have it in the third out of four options and call it 'realistic goal'. Maybe a tad optimistic after one win? Let alone the two options above it!
By the way, I've been pro giving Garner more time but we need to be sensible with our expectations. Otherwise people might create posts about sacking him after only one game..

Considering where we are now two wins and two draws would be OK although I would expect better considering some of the teams we are playing. It might be enough yo give the manager more time.

Yeah fair and perhaps I'm being pedantic with the groupings. I'd be pleased with 10, delighted with 12.

Eight points for me. Not said negatively but we have a pretty new team and they will have good and bad days for a while yet I suspect.

7-9 to keep him in a job anything less then sacked. But I’d like to think we can manage the one above.

I voted for 10-12 due to the calibre of opposition (on paper anyway). I would like to think we could get 3 wins and a draw out of that lot, although Lincoln next weekend and Hull in the mix will be very tough matches.
It's nice to return to a bit of optimism after yesterday's match, which showed that despite Northampton being poor, we are actually capable of playing well in a competitive match.

They will get a tonking next saturday, to another huge promotion chasing club It’s likely , whats important if that happens is that we bounce back and win v burton and crack on and keep picking up wins. Having won yesterday it makes sense to give Garner until the end of the month. Obviously it’s a risk because the window will be shut but there were signs that the players have started to click yesterday and it would appear we’ve stopped trying to play out from the back like Man bloody City do which is a relief.

I like the optimism! Hoping for a bonus point for 4 tries or more against Hull?

I think we will get 5 points. That will not be good enough. Manager will need to go.
