One for the future.
Weston-super-Mare AFC are delighted to announce that Ryan Jones has completed a move to League One side Bristol Rovers for an undisclosed fee, with him being loaned back to Weston for the remainder of the season

Am I right in thinking that as he's a free agent he can still be signed after the window is shut?

Nice to seeme we are working with local clubs identifying local talent. One for the future... Good Luck Lad ! I like this planning for the future. Let’s keep winning matches to ensure that this approach leads to success. I’m sure we all want this strategy to work. Welcome to the gas lad..

Not a let down at all, more a signing with half an eye to the future, that’s ok. At least his salary probably won’t create a 10 page thread! Welcome to Rovers Ryan even if you are playing for WSM for the foreseeable future. UTG!

Had a trial game at Fulham at the start of the month and a deal was agreed from what I was told, but fell through for whatever reason. Has been watched by other Prem clubs, including Wolves on Tuesday. Barry Fry was also watching his performance for Weston on Tuesday and Peterborough agreed a fee, but we beat them to his signature.

Very nice to see a highly rated youngster from one of the local sides not slip through our net this time as has happened in the past.
Sounds like he’s really high rated with Wolves, City and Peterborough all having a look at him, Welcome to the Gas Ryan!

Sounds promising. He's a left back isn't he?? I know he's been loaned back, but I think only Tutonda will be here with him next season, out of our current left backs, unless the others find some real form. Especially as we are being linked with other left backs. Read he was a left back. But then he says he's a winger. Where does he normally play??

Especially as we are being linked with other left backs. Can play anywhere down the left hand side, but I think we have him lined up for a wing back role. He's even played as a number 10 for Weston and Clevedon U18s. What a wand of a left foot by the way!

Can’t even remember the last time rovers signed a player with the intention of being one for the future. Times are changing!

What a let down, Ryan Jones from W-S-M Let down? Speak for yourself! Brilliant coup by the club & another sign of how smart and forward-thinking we’ve become with our recruitment.

Can’t even remember the last time rovers signed a player with the intention of being one for the future. Times are changing! We did start doing it when Wael first came in and set up the development squad. We signed that Kavanagh from Newport for a few etc. Now recently we signed Harries, Daly and Barrett etc. We certainly seem to be looking at youth a lot more again.

This young chap has been mentioned countless times as a rising talent. I’ve seen Pirate endorse his promise several times having seen the lad play often. I look forward to seeing the lads progress as I trust Pirates eye for a player, especially as it seems our scouts share that opinion.
