Right decision. Position was untenable.

Really sad at this. I like the direction the club are trying to go in and I think Garner is a good person with the right intentions but for whatever reason it’s been a disaster.
The right decision but definitely not one that has made me happy.

Feel for him really, I imagine he's crushed. Really hoped we'd turned a corner when we put together 4 wins and a draw from 5 but we have taken three steps backward since then. That being said, very glad we've acted early because we're being dragged into a relegation battle at the moment. There's time to not only save the season from disaster but actually have a go at the play-offs if we bring the right manager in. I certainly don’t have any ill feelings to the guy. He did what he thought was best and stuck to his guns which is commendable. I can’t see him getting another job as a manager though. Totally out of his depth. All the best for future Ben.

Gutted it hasn't worked out for him. I was never fully behind him but it sounded like he did a few things right on the training ground etc. Ultimately though he was fully backed by Wael and results haven't been good enough. Maybe a coach not a manager, a bit like Trolls? All the best BG.

Lee Johnson lined up to come in With Respect, Little Johnson could be the ideal man.Same vision as wael, based in the area.Maybe a point to prove to Pantsdown...

He's been fortunate that there have been no fans at the ground watching the games. It would have been very toxic.

Also I think he may have gaslit me into thinking he might have actually been building something long-term that might have been worth a couple of rough season waiting for. Chances are he wouldn't have taken us anywhere but down no matter how long he was given, but it's the hope that kills you.

Holy moly I was not expecting that! Fair enough though, Wael and Starnes perfectly justified in this decision. Feel for BG though, a real shame that his vision did not work out. It could have been a great time for the club, but he simply didn't produce enough progress to be able to see that his vision would eventually become a reality.

Hopefully Wael has learned a lot about recruitment and what you need in a league 1 club.... I don't blame him for trying something different but it was too different and done too quickly....

Me too. I'm not disappointed, just expected a bit longer. Perhaps that means there is someone lined up?

FFS I don’t know why but I really wanted it to work for Garner. Good luck in the future Ben.

My son has just come in and told me Garner has been sacked.
I have to say I am hugely surprised by this. I thought he would be given more time. I hope they have someone lined up.

Well done Wael. Next appointment crucial, but there should be some decent candidates to choose from.

I did say give him a quarter of the season to see if the summer allowed for an improvement, which I still think was right but sadly not to be. Right decision at the right time, gave him a fair go but not so late to sort things out. Wael's done well this year, hope his next decision carries that on.

Quite simply the correct decision. Glad that Wael has acted so quickly.
