Including loans I think Garner signed 17 players: Harries - Useless Barrett - Never Fit Daly - Promising Baldwin - Useless Ehmer - Disappointing Tutonda - Defensively Poor Koiki - Unsure Liddle - Unsure Grant - Disappoinnting Westbrooke - Abysmal McCormick - Promising Mitchell-Lawson - Disappointing Oztumer - Unsure Jones - Unsure Nicholson - Very Good Hanlan - Decent Ayunga - Unsure In my opinion Nicholson is the only one of Garner's signings that would get in most other league one sides. I like Daly and McCormick. Hanlan is a bit of a rough diamond but I'd keep him. Haven't really seen enough of Liddle, Koike, Oztumer, Jones and Ayunga. Wouldn't be sorry to see any of the other 8 leave. Harries - Is a ball player centre back but prone to mistakes, has had poor games but also looked our best defender in others. worth keeping as cover Barrett - Never Fit - agreed, but now back playing do we need to give him a chance? Daly - Promising - works hard and scores goals worth keeping Baldwin - Useless - makes mistakes but I think we need to give him more time Ehmer - Disappointing - agreed but he looks like he can play, Toady at full back had a great game, needs to be more vocal Tutonda - Defensively Poor - but when he was on form going forward a great wingback, probably he goes if we go to 4 at the back Koiki - Unsure - Hard to see what the excitement was about looks very average Liddle - Unsure - Not seen enough of him Grant - Disappoinnting - I take the opposite view breaks up so many attacks and can pass the ball definitely worth keeping- needs more time but will be a great player for us Westbrooke - Abysmal - Give him a chance its unusual to have players that actual control the ball and don't give it away but we need to be patient, he is a Chris lines in the making McCormick - Promising - Great signing rarely do we see loan players that contribute more Mitchell-Lawson - Disappointing - agreed time to send him back Oztumer - Unsure - so was I but he is coming good Jones - Unsure - He is still at Weston I think! Nicholson - Very Good - fantastic signing Hanlan - Decent - Great signing Ayunga - Unsure- Agreed haven't really seen him I really think we have bought well we have the making of a really great team. A full memorial stadium backing this team will transform us. For two years we have watched defenders that can't pass, midfielders who only go backwards and an attack dependent on just one player. Yes we have gaps but lets not tear up the team sheet and start again. We need an extra striker or two. So I think 3 out and 3 in. Possibly Tutonda, Kelly, Mitchell-Thomas. Would have said Leahy but today he did enough.

Leahy is steady, has a nice left foot - although overdoes the long ball for me, and he doesn't defend well especially stopping crosses. I wonder what's happened with Dave - injured ? As you say Koiki, doesn't look anything special (so far).

TI kept away from here after Gillingham match because I knew what it would be like. They did a proper, professional (?) job on us on Wednesday. Evans got inside the referees head by criticising everything. Their defenders tackled Hanlan, just enough to stop him but avoid cards, McCormick was singled out for some very tough treatment and got no protection from the referee and when he went off at half time they would have been happy. He had been effective and we weren’t very good after half time. We had some good chances and had we taken them we would have played on the front foot and perhaps have won. We do struggle if we go behind, unless we strike back quickly.
But we weren’t awful just as we weren’t awful against Swindon but we were disappointing. Tis has to be given time to do more of what happened today and in January and the Summer he will change us gradually. I won’t say everyone is wrong but I do think that the players we have now are probably technically better, are capable of being more creative and have made us a stronger club. What we do have though is probably an unbalanced squad with too many players who won’t play, too many full backs, a few midfielders who will struggle for game time but a striker or two short (made worse by Ayunga’s injury). Give our current players a better system of playing, get them playing to their strengths and playing on the front foot and we will be ok. Despite the stick he takes and the non protection he gets from referees Hanlan has been very good. I think he has 7 (?) now and I remember posting that if he got 10 by the new year I will be happy. He’s on course for that and I think that would be a good return. On Wednesday I think Evans knew what to do to either wind him up or deal with him and he put a player on him and had one in reserve to deal with him when he got the ball.
Just as I don’t think we’ll get to the play offs after today neither did I think we’ll get relegated after Wednesday. Tis needs time I’m sure the owners will give him that.
UTG!

I don't think Hanlan was being fouled - he was up against a good defender. It's a physical game and you have to be strong and deal with it. Gills had us because they knew we are not physically imposing at the back and so put 3 big bastards up front and by-passed the midfield. If you noticed it was like the last 15 minutes of the game in the first 15 ! balls pumped quickly to their 3 who did well enough to get their 2 goals - it could've been more. We hardly had any chances inside their box, the more the game went on - but not without trying to the end.

Last post above. Good points on both sides. Evans benefiting from being heard as no crowd. Oh to be back at the Mem

Christ Hollyhillgas, What are you suggesting doing...relegate us for certain? There are lots of candidates of players who are not getting a look in but I would try to get rid of Upson, Harries, Kelly, Little,JML, Leahey and everyone needs to shape up.They are all as bad as one another at the moment. Otzumer, Nicholson ,Annsi, Hanlan,Daly are the chinks of light!! This is the post i agree with. I'd also get rid of the Dutch goalkeeper. With regards to bringing others back forget it. They left for a reason and only Clarke - Harris has gone on to a higher club. Bobby Gould once said to me that the then squad were one step away from the Championship, but also one step away from non-league. I think we have a few of the latter

I didn' watch the Wimbledon game but listened to it on the Radio and Grant was only mentioned about 5 times in the whole game, and I wondered what he was doing on the pitch. For me I would get rid of Baldwin without any doubt. I would send Mitchell Lawson back to Derby. Tutonda, out on loan for me. Koiki, well he is strong and quick they say. So why not train him to play up front? or at least try. I think our Finnish international's contract is up this summer. As for Ogogo, can he be any worse then some others we have in midfield? He might be getting on, but he knows this league, and he would bring a driving force to midfield
