Just had a thought i take it the club will not be selling half season season tickets this time or would they think it might be a good move to get some money in and non season tickets holders a chance to get to a game ?

It's a shame that peoples only response to what is a valid argument is "if you don't like it, don't go". There has been much more reasoned arguments than that, but what's wrong with "don't like it, don't go"? Simple solutions to simple problems.

Apologies to spoil this guys but further to Boris’s announcement today and data I get through my employment it will be an absolute miracle if anyone is in the stadium anything past the test event game.

The way the "super" COVID virus appears to be spreading that seems fairly certain, I'm surprised any sporting event is still allowing fans to attend TBH.

It certainly looks like we aren’t going anywhere now. I can’t even see the Pompey game being used as a tester - that’s if it even goes ahead.

As things stand Bristol is in tier 2 until the 30th December so assuming all is good on the player front, we'll have 1k in attendance.

It’s just a feeling but after Christmas I can see a wider lockdown being imposed. I have no proof, I just think it’s where we are heading.

It's clearly possible as a short term move and time will tell. The situation beyond January appears far more positive though so any setback should be short term.

On what basis do you say that when the whole of the south east has just gone into tier 4, along with Wales, due to a mutantality version of COVID said to be spreading 70% faster, it's pretty obvious that's going to hit the Bristol area soon then we'll be back into tier 3 or 4.

I say that on the basis of the proposed mass vaccination plan which will dramatically change the picture. Once the vulnerable are protected, the upper tier restrictions will be a thing of the past.

There's no chance of "mass vaccines" by January when only 350K people have had the first part of the vaccine so far, it'll be months before even the venerable/NHS staff etc have had both parts of the vaccine. Plus just because the venerable have been fully vaccinated doesn't mean the rest of us can just get on with our lives.

Which is why I said 'beyond January' with a million a week potentially in line for it from the new year onwards. That will undoubtedly change the complexion of the situation. The current restrictions are in place to protect the vulnerable and NHS and will be significantly eased when the latter no longer becomes a danger. Of course it will be down to individuals how they want to live going forward but the opportunity for relative normality will present itself again. Apologies for the positivity.

Looking back now, the summer just gone was relatively free with deaths and cases dropping low in June/July and restrictions relaxed compared to now. You’d like to think by summer 2021 we’d be in a better situation than a year previously.

Can you share Hancock's quote from today? The reality is that the situation will become far more manageable and impact considerably less beyond the inevitable difficult start to the year.
