Just read our heroes latest comment on the state of Bristol football, I always thought he was a decent bloke with good ideas about the gas, but recently he has turned into a dickhead , walked out on Grimsby when the going got tough, went on sky’s soccer AM and just generally was annoying, then today slags off Rovers for not sticking with two sh** managers , if he had put his name in the hat before Garner was employed we would not be in this mess , but he didn’t so he is in no position to give an opinion, move back up north where he loves it so much or remember his roots and support The Gas as we do ,through thick and thin!

Crikey you changed your tune. Can't dissagree though, would be best if he shut up now before we all forget what a legend he was.

How do you know he didn't put his name in the hat? Our President and CEO spent 2 hours at this house for some reason or another so maybe that is why he does have an opinion?

"Only by doing so, and losing the reputation of being ‘selling clubs’, can Rovers and City hope to develop models that bring long-term success"
Sorry Olly there aren't many clubs in the world who aren't 'selling clubs'.
"Managers change so often these days that players, many of whom fail to show sufficient pride in the badge, seem to accept it as a natural occurrence"
Like you did Olly declaring your undying love before jumping from one club to the next, and changing colours more often than a Chameleon.
"City fans might find it hard to believe, but if Rovers can’t reach the top flight, nothing would please me more than for Steve Lansdown to take his club up from the Championship"
Totally lost any respect for Holloway beyond being a great Rovers player

Most of what he says is spot on. Most successful teams have shown a bit of a patience with a manager.
I’m sure most of the experts on here declared us in a relegation battle in 06/07 (12 points in first 12 games) and in 14/15 (8 points in first 7 games) and demanded the manager be sacked. Both times we stuck by the manager and won promotion.
It seems to me constantly sacking a manager achieves little but a lot of money wasted in compensation payments.

You can’t stick by him when the players have stopped playing for him. Imo it’s a disgrace that the players get slapped on the back for deigning to put some effort in when they have been hiding the last few weeks and costing us points, Day especially. But that’s football for you and the club is left with no choice but to let the manager go because they can’t let all the players go. That being said I doubt Tisdale helped in motivating them but he may have been operating with his hands tied behind his back at the same time.

As usual the correct response is a bit of balance
Ollie’s point are all valid ones, however the last two managers have for whatever reason not been fit for purpose
I have no doubts that if Coughlan hadn’t removed himself from his position , he would still be here if we were getting same results and PpG return that he enjoyed during his tenure , irrespective of how pretty the football was or wasn’t
So if the next guy emulates that or better then no reason why he shouldn’t get a decent crack of the whip
I just don’t think the owners are prepared to countenance L2 hence the decisions made to move Garner and Tisdale out where there is still time to do something about it

I guess that doesn't include standing by Holloway by Geoff Dunford, and not getting promotion? After which he wanted to leave and, I believe, went to QPR.
