He only bashed it against the hoardings like a lot of them do and it didn't come straight back out but spun off a bit further down. Hardly the crime of the century and only warranted a stern warning for attempted time-wasting, not a second yellow in a crucial relegation scrap. It changed the balance of the game in their favour and they lapped it up. I like the idea of extra balls along the touchline to keep the game flowing and eliminate time-wasting. This season we've all had a moan at pedantic refs who won't allow it and insist on the same ball being used. Surely it's positive for them too as it reduces the amount of stick they get. Do they only allow other balls to be used in the PL because I can't recall refs not allowing it there.
