Barton has said there is a cancer running through the club so one obvious target is TW , does it run from the commercial dept , players , coaches the academy all the way down to ground staff ,shop staff ? What do other posters think ? Trouble is, he's been vague, so now everyone can think they know what he's talking about, and everyone who dislikes someone at the club can think he's on their side. Not sure why he needed to bring it up now. Feels a bit self-serving to me. I feel like he won't be able to relegate us without some serious toy-throwing.

Is Manse rated as a coach? He was immense at Mansfield when we won there and a player ,Nicky Hunt, kept hacking him off the ball (was sent of) but Manse was a real skipper that day? Snakey scored a late winner and Jermaine Easter was sent off. Yep always rated Manse long before he came to us and when he played against us he was always the stand out player, proper leader of men.

So we are meant believe that Tisdale, an experienced manager, decided not to sign a striker in January and then moaned about it? Widdrington said in his interview after Tisdale was sacked that you can’t always land your transfer targets and the squad was good enough. If our Director of Football remains at the football club then nothing will change, get rid asap.

Completely counterproductive, self serving bullshit. Same as the Ehmer comments.
What self-respecting member of that squad is going to read any of this and want to put a shift in for him on Saturday?

As my geordie friend messaged me today it will be a very rocky ride with JB,a sight more interesting than the one dimensional BG.

Motivation from a manager can do a lot. We've seen players trying get rid of a manager- if one is calling them "cancer" good luck firing them up to help you keep your job.

Its been talked about that we had identified two targets in January and Tisdale put all of his eggs in those particular baskets and wasn't willing to look elsewhere. We got strung along by Gnanduillet for almost the whole window, who was clearly hoping a better option came along. Then we got led to believe that Stockley was on his way, only to see him end up at Charlton. By this point we were deep into the window and had limited options left. All this being said we should have signed somebody up front because pretty much anything is better than what we currently have. Tisdale placed the blame at TW's door and TW has done likewise.

I think like most of us JB has accepted we will be relegated so it's a free hit,I know there are 27 points to play for but I can't see how we can get the 15/16 we will need.

The fact that he's performed better as an interim manager than in his actual day job speaks volumes.

Tisdale had chance to rectify it in Jan, does very little transfer business, then moans about it. Barton hasn't had that luxury yet but will probably be a different story if he is saying the same things come Nov/Dec People keep banging on about the January transfer window, so he didn’t try to get anyone else in besides Williams and Day? Players were queuing up to join Rovers but he said no! Are People forgetting the famous Widderington black book of quality? I’m not having this January transfer window reason to lambast Tisdale and spread blame for what Barton is getting away with now as what is the point in signing worse than you already have? We’ve been there before with desperate signings and paying the price years later. I’m seeing the same with Barton as I did with Tisdale just Barton’s more crude with the excuses. Who says they were worse, is it really possible to sign worse than Ayunga, Daly and Hanlan, league experience and goals returns wise? Using your logic we would have never signed Andy Rammell in the past just in case he wasn't better than we already had at the time. Although, given that most of the players at the club have only signed in the last year or so how can their be a cancer running through the entire club, rather than just a group of players not good enough for L1, which really has been the case for most of the time we've been in L1 since we got lucky getting promoted. We seems to be a L2 set up trying to survive in L1.

I'm assuming that he's referring to the culture, rather than specific individuals when he says this. The club does seem to have a culture that just accepts mediocrity, where people can be promoted or rewarded for average or below-par performance, where many are probably just content to remain a league one/league two yo-yo club and not aspire to do better. You can see examples of that all over the place. Ironically the one area where we are quick to make changes is the first team manager so he'd probably want to consider how far he wants to take this line of thinking within the public environment. So where do you start, MS & TW, or go even higher given that Wael employed MS and even, bizarrely, promoted TW.

It's pretty obvious the players in the main simply aren't good enough. Any player can have the odd good game. I remember Meaker's first game when he signed and he looked like Ronaldo but we soon realised he was more like Worrell Sterling. You have to be able to maintain that level for the majority of the season and very few of our current squad have managed that. There also seems to be a mentality problem with certain players who maybe have the talent but aren't willing or able to put in the effort for 90 minutes.
We don't have enough warriors on the pitch and as Barton said, some players seem to be scared of their own shadow. Westbrooke would rather we concede a goal than throw himself in front of a shot. His half hearted challenge on Payne that allowed him to move into the area and score was pathetic.
We lack leaders and goalscrorers. I'm pleased these problems have been identified and that Barton and Wael have already discussed and agreed on how to put things right in the summer.

I agree! Not the calming, inspiring stuff you expect of someone looking to steady the ship! I really wouldn’t be surprised to see him walk, he will know his career will be on hold trying to sort this mess out and he strikes me as someone who thinks he can manage at a much higher level. Keeps insulting and blaming everyone and it may not be too long before he’s back oop north looking for a better challenge! Was Ben F Garner an inspiring leader? Was Paul Tisdale? Did they get great results with their calm and inspiring ways? What about the last great successful manager we had who inherited a shambles and called it out? Was he calm? Was he inspirational? Did he undo the mess of those that he had inherited from? Did he take us down before he took us up? Was he more similar to JB or Ben F Garner? It was Coughlin, saved us from going down and took us higher up the table than anyone else in 20 years. I thought he was quite funny and inspirational.
