Dammed if you do, Dammed if you don't. Tisdale was a soft, characterless manager that was so uninspiring to listen to, when he had that outburst that was a game after being thumped 6-1, not the best time to start singling out your strikers so publicly which is exactly what he did. He said he was not a magician and pretty much didn't have the answers. He asked to be sacked. Joey Barton, has been publicly and probably more damning with his words, but is anyone on here actually disagreeing with what is said or I missing something. Are we actually a really good team and everyone doing a great job at the club? Joey never singled out a single player, he speaks about the club as a whole and I agree personally. I think that maybe he hopes to get a reaction from players, have some professional pride and fight to survive. I think they are far too complacent and clearly not switched on every game as if every 3 point is a must. I hope the players do react and by sort of miracle we stay up, but it is unlikely with so much to do with so few games remaining. I think they are switched on, just not 100% of the game by 100% of the team. And they take it in turns like a relay first 30 mins v Charlton you'd struggle to find a more switched on team. Accrington at home was sublime. So they can do it. But they as a team are extremely fragile once a decision or goal goes against them. There's just no battle in the battle tank Last 20 mins of most matches they are like day old rabbits in the headlights So true. Even after Accrington scored their consolation goal we looked rattled, and we were still 3 goals ahead! The team needs steel and badly.

We get rattled easily, we lose confidence easily, heads drop easily, we don't focus for the whole 90 minutes, players forget their role and get in each other's way and leave players unmarked regularly - All because there is no leadership on the pitch. There is no Tony Craig or Mark McChrystal type player urging, cajoling, rollicking, guiding, helping the younger and less robust players in the team. The whole squad, bar one or two, are lightweight almost 'snowflake', characters - technically good when everything is on song as the Accrington, Pompey and first 30mins at Charlton show, but they just dissolve at the first sign of adversity. Even the more experienced players are not the leaders that the others need. We missed the opportunity to recruit a couple of these characters in the January window that could have saved us - Tisdale went because of that, and Widdrington should follow. Edit - I fear for us on Saturday. A couple of early Sunderland goals and we could just fold completely and the final result could see us shipping 6, 7, 8 or more. That would just destroy what little confidence remains for the final 8 games.

The common denominator in this awful mess is WAQ, who has made a succession of dreadful hires off the pitch. Fair enough, but it's the same WAQ that's continued to make up the pay of furloughed staff that aren't on the playing side, and keep the club running in covid times. Plus, get a training centre up and running during this crisis. Are those cancers too? Should they have been cut out...? I understand frustrations, but be careful where we place trust in what's said publicly and the correlation of that and the truth. We were ok 14 months ago. Not many had these sorts of complaints.

Joey’s morning after the night before presser; “If I could go in today and cut surgically the cancer that’s running throughout the club out, I would. But I can’t because I need a period of time and a transfer window to do that." Absolutely damming of the work of his predecessors and no punches pulled whatsoever. Good on you Joey. How can anyone read that and not agree with most of what he said.. Because people have their heads firmly in the sand. Same brigade who were crying when there was talk about a new stadium and championship football. Some fans love being ‘rag bag’ rovers and don’t want anything to change.

I'm assuming that he's referring to the culture, rather than specific individuals when he says this. The club does seem to have a culture that just accepts mediocrity, where people can be promoted or rewarded for average or below-par performance, where many are probably just content to remain a league one/league two yo-yo club and not aspire to do better. You can see examples of that all over the place. Ironically the one area where we are quick to make changes is the first team manager so he'd probably want to consider how far he wants to take this line of thinking within the public environment. 100% this. Just let this sink in, we actually have fans on here wanting him to walk for calling out the club on this. You couldn’t make it up. The ‘cancer’ isn’t just TW and Garners coaching staff, it’s a chunk of the fanbase as well.

So we are meant believe that Tisdale, an experienced manager, decided not to sign a striker in January and then moaned about it? Widdrington said in his interview after Tisdale was sacked that you can’t always land your transfer targets and the squad was good enough. If our Director of Football remains at the football club then nothing will change, get rid asap. It’s a lot easier for people to have a scapegoat (Tisdale/now Barton) than face the actual truth. We’re heading to the conference if TW and Starnes stay. 3 managers now, will be 4 if Barton gets sacked or resigns. Absolute madness club is in disarray.

So what your saying is we couldn't attract anyone that is a better striker than Hanlon? If that is the case we as a club are screwed because there must be 100s of better strikers in the lower leagues/fringe championship or premiership players that are better than him and the position we were in someone was desperately needed. Tisdale went after Stockley and got let down and had no backup plan, which says to me he went for someone he knew as he couldn't get or know of anyone else to bring in. I found him a pretty lazy kind of manager who didn't do his homework on the club and players before he came in and as they say fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Hanlon is a wide player not a striker, it’s all hypothetical like your Shockley quote but what makes you think all these decent strikers would join this circus? You say Tisdale didn’t do his homework but what makes you think Barton did especially considering his barking mad outburst at this crucial stage of the season? I would say he certainly didn’t and he is getting lower in my estimations after each game especially as he takes no blame and rests it solely on the shoulders of others. But like you say, fail to prepare, prepare to fail Mr Barton. Saying all that, if our goal wasn’t wrongly ruled out and that needless free kick given away leading to their goal Barton would not have said what he did. Tisdale stated after 2 weeks he still didn't know the names of all the players that is unbelievable. JB had watched videos of us and knew alot about the club even before he took his 1st training session. I am certain if JB was in charge in January we would have at least one new striker and a CB in place now and possibly one or two other players to add some experience. JB was a prepared as any decent manager would be,what he has found after he got here is a different matter.

I have to say I'm astonished at how publicly scything Barton is being - especially so early on. Genuinely astonished. Whether or not he's right is another matter - but when you consider Tisdale effectively got fired for a fair, relatively low-key off-air remark, it's amazing to see Joey throwing everyone under the bus so publicly. I've honestly no idea what he's hoping to achieve? I know there's a major love-in going on with most on here, but does anyone honestly think throwing just about every player under the bus publicly is somehow going to enhance our chances of survival? Maybe it's motivating some of you, but I can't imagine for a minute it's motivating many of the players - and results appear to back that up. If Joey Barton was bought in to save us from relegation, his public outbursts are almost guaranteeing the opposite. Horrific management from where I'm standing. One thing doing it at the end of the season, but now? It reeks of someone who thinks they're out of the their depth and are doing everything in their power to deflect any blame whatsoever from themselves - ironic as it seems for many on here he's completely blameless no matter what happens. I would say it’s a man who’s realised what an absolute shambles and mess of a club he’s walked into. In my honest opinion he’s had a realisation and wants out

Not silly to want to get rid of a total managerial nobody who only ever talks down the club. Havent seen many positive posts from you about the club. Get rid of a managerial nobody brilliant and bring in who,yes that's right another managerial nobody with no league 1 experience and says yes sir no sir three bags full sir. JB remarks are exactly what is needed and what alot of people already think and it looks like there are going to be some notable casualties in the summer as Wael will back Barton regardless of what happens this season. One question for you if Barton is relieved of his duties at the end of the season who do bring in to sort the mess out or do we continue along the same path and end up getting relegated to the conference which I would imagine would finish our beloved club off once and for all.

You're saying Tisdale said his piece and therefore asked to be sacked, whereas Barton said his but it's ok because we don't disagree (even though no one seemed to disagree with Tisdale). Also JB did single out a specific player, Ehmer. Why is JB hoping for a reaction but Tisdale asking to be sacked, why not the other way round? You started off saying damned if you do, damned if you don't, but you're damning Tisdale, but not Barton. Barton outburst not on the back of 6-1 hammering and probably the worst display I have seen watching Rovers ever. What would you rather Barton come out and say. It's OK, the players are trying their best. Amazing that you are accepting that the players are awful and believe it's all JB fault. Well done to him for not being soft touch like our players for the season, BG brought them in, they got Tisdale sacked and he admitted he wasn't up to the job. What do you JB to say there is nothing he can do with them himself, he saying the clubs needs change and he 100% correct. Let's say Joey Barton gets sacked, which I don't believe he will. Who are you appointing then?

Moving forward now . Who undertakes the investigation and what can we learn ?.
We know only 18 months ago the club were doing ok and there was a goodish buzz. I am not suggesting perfect but acceptable . I am saying this because the investigation needs to start at a certain date.
In my view only WAEL can order this and he needs independent objective people outside the club to collect findings and evidence. If you use people within it is tic for tac .
I say this because people tell me WAEL isn't around much and trust other people with is money. Well if that's the case hes a Joe Soap carrying on.
Then from the report he needs to make the changes and set targets people need to meet. If we don't learn then the next episode may be too late .

The common denominator in this awful mess is WAQ, who has made a succession of dreadful hires off the pitch. Immediately think of Hamer, Atkins, Cunnah, Dubey, Turner, Starnes, Widdrington, Garner, and Tisdale. All of them have cost him money and missed opportunities. Do agree, but I personally feel sorry for Wael. He’s forking out all of this cash and being taken for a ride. Almost like an elderly/naive person and the builders are convincing them to have loads of work done that they don’t need doing. Albeit I do understand the buck ultimately stops with him... maybe (hopefully) Barton is the man to snap him out of it.

We have an established history of success based on not bringing in outsiders. It's easy to believe what the latest passer by says when they're under pressure to perform and believe it. Much more balanced to look at the fact we were flying in 4th in December 2019 with the same staff behind the scenes at the club.
