But what about the key issue of HP Sauce on chips... Heathen, Tomato Sauce on chips. HP is for a full English and Pasties. Brown sauce on pasties, oh yes! I also recently discovered the joy of HP sauce on bubble 'n squeak.

Absolutely. But more to the point I have been to Hertford's ground many times and the Real Pub down the road is one of the best in Hertfordshire. Ranked closely to the Mermaid opposite St Albans City's ground. How do I know this?...because I am the devil incarnate. Plus, you need to change your user name, its ridiculous. Why is my username ridiculous, from my years spent standing in the now Thatchers end, we always used to shout "sing up gas" which would be followed by some else shouting "up the gas". Oh god. Do you work in Diversity Training?

Don't know if oldie has been drinking, but cringing with embarrassment reading his posts tonight. Time to put down the bottle and his keyboard for one night maybe.

Do managers ever say in public that they expect less than 100% wins? Bit daft if they do. And in our current position he really doesn't have any choice! After 5 straight defeats, 5 straight wins would be very welcome Most managers just don’t talk with forward looking dialogue that gives hope. We won the last game and now we look forward. Winning is what Joey is about and he’s got me and many energised. We were down and nearly out out he has gave us some light that is worth going for. He’s setting a ground breaking goal that team are aiming at. His enthusiasm and belief might well keep us out of bottom four. I’m on his ground breaking journey along with thousands of gas fans who are crossing their fingers hoping he can turn it around. Performances of late suggest we will might well make it. I admire your enthusiasm and positivity, but ground breaking goal? Ground breaking journey? Really? What does it even mean? The guy has no choice!! After he lost 5 on the trot we have pretty much got to win all our remaining games. I have watched every match this season including the friendlies and like all true supporters I am always there irrespective of who is manager and irrespective of how well we are playing. So like every game I will go into the final 6 with exactly the same level of enthusiasm and belief as i have for the other 40. And yes, I do believe we will avoid relegation.

There was this bloke that whenever it was dire (talking 10/15 years back) he always used to shout “sing up gas” followed by him shouting “up gas up gas up gas” Doesn’t sound like it was you though Cool story though, brought back some memories

Can’t figure out what is ground breaking about JB. I’m just pleased we seem to be playing better and I’ll settle for avoiding relegation this season. UTG!

It’s definitely not ground breaking to of kept us up this season from the time Joey came in , I’d put it about 60% in his favour . That being said , I quite like the way he’s going about things and think he’ll do well in the long run . I think he’s got a good idea what makes players tick , how to motivate them alongside a fair amount of tactical nouse . Bear in mind it’s other managers players he’s working with. If he keeps us up next season and he gets us a top 10 finish , would the doubters relent ?

Ok Is he under 10? If so I apologise Rich is a poster of old and has a very uniquely positive style. Yes, it may fit the “mindless optimism” camp but there’s nothing wrong with optimism. I’d take ten of these over the usual cynical nonsense It began I believe with the original GBG thread in 2014 I believe Hmmm... weren't we relegated the season of the original Groundbreaking thread I believe? More bad omens.

So you are picking on the Rich for not living in Bristol? As that the point you are trying to make? Rich lives in Hertford, and what? It makes sense if you are Beelzebub because Hertford Town used to play in red and white quarters! 😂 How do I know this,...because the wife’s grandfather used to be chairman back in the 60/70s.

More bad omens. No it started when John Ward joined club. We were bottom of table and ground breaking goal was reaching play offs. Amazingly we nearly achieved it. Fell short. Our history this season suggests that when we win all of the rest of our games it will be ground breaking as really very few expect it. Enjoy the ride.

I think play offs should be the goal however motivational Joey will probably suggest automatic promotion. Love his enthusiasm.
