they didnt rise to the challenge of being molly coddled either. The majority of them are a pile of dung. If they had any pride they would ask to be transfer listed. What can you do with a squad that are so inept at football. Well you can transfer list them without publicly castrating them first maybe? And FWIW, we picked up more points when they were being "molly coddled" so that argument doesn't stack up. Barton failed to motivate them and got less out of them than anybody - that's the reality. by what 0.13 ppg?these are not professional footballers. Certainly not what it takes to wear our shirt with pride. they had a pe teacher bending over backwards to their wants during pre season. When you hear them saying I enjoyed pre season then you know it's easy and not good enough for a slog in div 1.they swung the lead and did the bare minimum.yes they are a disgrace and hope never to see these wasters in a rovers shirt again.

I’d also go as so far to say we need a new number 1 GK as Annsi is only good for 25 games a year.

Carlisle retained in. piratePlayers with clauses activated for the 2021/22 season: Lewis Alessandra, Jack Armer, Taylor Charters, Josh Dixon, Callum Guy, Aaron Hayden, Joe Riley, Gime Toure (activated ahead of the last game of the season). That's my one of my Midfielders off the wish list

He’s talking about Garner, and you are talking about Cogs so think there are crossed wires over “the PE teacher” nickname

But I'm giving him a bit of slack because of the mess he inherited and the attitude of this squad that would have got many more managers sacked. Barton at least has stood up to them and called them out for what they are

When it comes to the first game at this stage I can only see Jaakkola New FB New CB New CB New LB Rodman New CM/Westbrooke Grant New LM Nicholson New Striker New Striker Roll on June 9th where hopefully JB will come up with some gems!!! I make that a 4-4-1-2 formation, crumbs if our only hope is to try and sneak one extra player on the pitch than our opponents we’re in even more trouble than I thought!

Question is, how many contracted players have been told they can find another club? Hopefully all but 2

A few negative comments about Ellis and his fee on here. Those who say he was not good enough for championship may or may not be right but he is certainly good enough for league 2 and i would have him back in a heart beat! Great positive influence in the dressing room ( and boy could we have done with that this season) and more than capable up front and defensively. Wonder what his position is at Pompey? Why do we need ex players

Let’s hope ex-Gillingham players don’t become the new ex-Posh players. 😉 UTG!

I’d also go as so far to say we need a new number 1 GK as Annsi is only good for 25 games a year. Agree. Anssi’s played 42 league games for us across two full seasons - so he’s essentially not been available for a full season due to injuries + Finland call-ups. Not the type of reliable presence we need between the sticks if the aim is to build a reliable and solid defensive unit, IMO.

So this is what we have right now guys: * indicates under negotiation View AttachmentThanks goodnightirene. That list is not very inspiring. For me there is lots of work to do. GK position: Happy to keep this how it is. Maybe if an offer comes in for ansi I would let him go and find a replacement that will play nearly every game as ansi has missed a lot these past few seasons. No need for a third keeper as this is what the emergency loan market is available for. RB position: Williams has performed ok since joining us, though nothing spectacular. Could do well RB in a back for and has performed at this level before. Hoole looked to have potential but will we be taking a risk having him as backup with his inexperience? CB position: Think we need 2 new big, strong experienced players here. I would keep kilgour as backup/rotation until he regains some form and confidence and would also have Martinez as backup. The other 3 can leave. LB position: Tutonda I don’t believe will be up to the task as our starting LB so would move on. We need to sign a new player here. Jones looks to have potential but again same as Hoole are we taking a risk having an inexperienced player as back up? DM position: Grant is sure to be starter and I’m happy with that. Mehew looked good in the few EFL trophy games but not sure on him being backup to grant. May need to sign an experienced, powerful ball winner here. CM position: for me our worst department. Westbrooke struggles with the physicality of league 1 so will definitely struggle with it at league 2. Bench player maybe to come on if a game is tight? The other 2 haregreaves and liddle are not up to it for me and need to go. 2 new players needed here. AM position: happy with the players here but injury and fitness records are a worry. Do we know the full extent of Nicholson injury? Could be the leagues best player but Will he miss the start of next season? Rodman, good experienced pro but will he stay fit or illness free all season? Barrett has potential to be a good player but will he prove his fitness? Walker, shows promise but will he stand up to the physical nature of league 2? Would only sign players here if any of the above are a concern near start of season. ST position: 2 players, proven goal scorer and target man needed here. Ayunga and hanlon as back up players and Daly if he can prove his fitness. Phillips didn’t get a look in last this season so would let go. Ayunga, hanlon and Daly have all shown glimpses of their ability but they all need to play back up to 2 new strikers. Hanlon and Daly could be used in the AM position. So all in I reckon 8 definates signings are needed with a possible 4 more if we decide Hoole, Jones, aren’t experienced enough, we need another in the AM to cover concerns above and a GK if we receive an offer for ansi. I think JB has one hell of a job on his hands. What do you guys think?

I think JB has one hell of a job on his hands. What do you guys think? Great reply and exactly what I had hope for when displaying our squad in this way. I think we have got to move some of these players on be it on loan or sold to make room for more. Trouble is, we need that done ASAP so we can build the team for the whole of pre season. Might take upto 3 windows this mind. Liked your thoughts on the emergency keeper thing. Great idea! It's a real challenge isn't it when you look at it like that. Regarding the Youth... Jones (who I would love to see) has hooked on a 3 year deal, so maybe a loan to Jan wouldn't be so bad. He would need to be a starter for where ever he plays if we are going to turn him into £££ in the future. If he stays then he would need to be featuring in a lot of the Dev Squad games and not on the bench like we have seen a bit this year. I mean I guess that is the same for most of our youth element left. Looks like we have too many young/inexperienced strikers for league 2. Hanlan is a real tough one for me. He could come good with a real decent summer/pre season period as he has the power and pace and isn't afraid to take someone on but, and it's an important but, he needs to have hold up play and stand up to these CB's if he is going to get the next level. Other than that we play him out wide, but he will have to defend when needed in the 4-3-3 attacking formation. Looking at the players Fleetwood released, I like us for Coutts and Morris if the stars align
