Sido Jombati has always been a decent defender at L1 and L2 level. Got promoted from Wycombe and I remember him having a cracking game at the Mem for them.
I was surprised he went to Oldham last season.

Looking at the number of players being released by clubs I reckon this will be a record for a season

Harries, Tutonda, Barrett, Daly and Ehmer I didn’t know about Barrett or Ehmer but they stand to reason as Ehmer actually departed physically weeks ago and Barrett was probably in the bottom of a jar of Nutella

Well you can transfer list them without publicly castrating them first maybe? And FWIW, we picked up more points when they were being "molly coddled" so that argument doesn't stack up. Barton failed to motivate them and got less out of them than anybody - that's the reality. by what 0.13 ppg?these are not professional footballers. Certainly not what it takes to wear our shirt with pride. they had a pe teacher bending over backwards to their wants during pre season. When you hear them saying I enjoyed pre season then you know it's easy and not good enough for a slog in div 1.they swung the lead and did the bare minimum.yes they are a disgrace and hope never to see these wasters in a rovers shirt again. The collapse which gathered momentum as the season progressed seemed a deliberate and concerted action by most who took part - 5 points adrift, they should be ashamed especially as Wael stood behind their wages. Send them to Coventry.

In hindsight, is is that much of a surprise that Leahy has left? Plenty of clubs would love his goal record in their team, he has experience as captain at the end of the season. It's easier to go down a league than go up, he's from Midlands area I believe so not exactly that close to home. Burton, Shrewsbury etc would be an option I'd imagine, maybe even Cheltenham (which would be depressing!) Not sure it matters when he comes from it's where he now calls home, Tom Nichols still seems to live locally from his Insta posts as does Liam Sercombe. If Rovers players have taken a 25%(?) pay cut following our relegation then he could probably get a similar pay rise from a L1 side, plus play at a higher level. Give me a BOOM baby. This one is dedicated to Topper! Can you hear the Topper sing, I can't hear a ******* thing! 😁

Fair play to him - At least he gave us his best and contributed.
Frustrating though that a player can get relegated with a side that just rolled over and died because the players didn't give a sh**, but within two weeks is back in League One.
Confident that he wont be the last either ....

Luke Leahy gave it his all.Not an accomplished defender but he and Mc Cormick really gave everything unlike most of the others. Best of luck.Good little club with excellent training facilities and a stadium which suits their small crowds to perfection and has great catering and disabled facilities. Shrews only club in the whole West Mercia area of;Shrops,Worcs and Herefordshire so potential is there.

Jenks, Why not just wait and see what players JB brings in before criticising. Perhaps there is a chance that YOU are wrong with all your assumptions. He didnt seem to be too bad at leading Fleetwood both as a Manager and coaching them. have you not thought that perhaps the players or many of them are just bad apples. Why not give the bloke a chance next season and then comment or are you one of those who will just disappear if you are wrong? I have no problem at all with any of his decisions so far and Leahy is no loss at all defensively. Hi Steve Yes I have no problem with him letting Leahy go. My comment was more around how his communication on Leahy (95% agreed and then he leaves) is just another example of what we’ve seen on JB’s leadership and management so far, which continues to worry me. I’ve worked with and observed a lot of people whom I think are great leaders and mangers, and who have got the best out of me, and I don’t see many of these traits in JB. But each to their own, and of course he did a decent job at Fleetwood. I’d be delighted to be proved wrong, and it may well be the case that these particular players will only respond to this type of leadership at this moment. If I am wrong, I promise that I won’t disappear! UTG Leahy also suggested in his recent interview he hoped to sign a new contract: Gas captain Luke Leahy reflects on relegation and discusses contract talks www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-rovers-captain-luke-leahy-5398745#ICID=Android_BristolPostApp_AppShareYou can only assume Shrewsbury have come in and made Leahy a better offer.

The sooner we get rid of the rest of them the better. I’ve got no hard feelings against Leahy, but he has been part of the worst rovers side I can remember for a long time. The habit of losing is a hard one to break, especially after 18 months of it.

Did he really, let's be honest until he was made captain by Barton he was seen as guilty as the rest of the back 5 for our defensive woes, I doubt he even improved following just that the others got even worse.

Even the Leahy apologists concede he wasn't very good defensively, that's how crap he was. He compounded his inadequacy as a defender by becoming a right greedy idiot after becoming top scorer, repeatedly choosing to take a shot to nothing when passing or squaring it was the sensible option. Losing Leahy is the best thing to happen to this club since work commencing on the training ground.
