Watched the Cardiff Fulham game today and have to say it was a sad sight seeing Rickie struggling in a very poor Cardiff team. I know he never had real pace but whatever he had has now deserted him I'm afraid.

If that is the case then what do you expect! Lambert must have a lot of pace round him as like you say he has none himself. I'd love it, bloody love it if he scores the winner past the sh** next week and puts Little Lee out of a job!

Interestingly, Harrison now has the same number of league appearances for Rovers as Rickie Lambert- 128. Lambert in those games has scored nearly twice as many goals. Now that's consistent. What's that cliche - if he's half the player Lambert is..... Also, the same number of appearances, yes, but less than half the amount of starts (49, to Rickie's 114).

Lambert scored nearly that many in one season, now that's consistant. Ricky Lambert scored goals consistently, Ellis Harrison scores goals occasionally. He's not cosistant now, no. When he was with us he was. Ricky Lambert scored goals consistently, Ellis Harrison scores goals occasionally. And I told you Ricky Lambert scored goals consistently, Ellis Harrison scores goals occasionally.

Getting back to Ellis...I've just seen his interview and very glad to see how grown up he was about it..glad he realises it was just a cracking game he had and knows there's a lot more to do to keep him at the club..his training performances must be good as well as he's been getting picked even when he's not been on form..hope he sees what he has to do now to mould himself into a good player..Northampton where shocking Saturday and I don't think anyone expected that so I really hope he goes on to prove himself against in form teams now...

Have to say as well that I thought it was good management to keep Ellis on. I think hauling him off would have sent out the wrong message after scoring 4 goals.

I've seen EH have good games and bad games, great games and awful ones. What I've not seen is any sort of consistent form, barring that spell at the tail end of the conference season. I'm delighted he bagged four very good goals today but I'm certainly not about to break out the bubbles because previous experience tells me that there's just as much chance of him having a stinker next week as there is another top notch performance. Having said that, I sincerely hope he kicks on with today's performance giving him the confidence to put the Fleetwood defence to the sword. It's crazy to think he's still only 22 and with the wealth of experience he has already he could have a remarkable future ahead of him. Like I've said this is basically the theme of this entire thread. Ellis has been a double figure number 9 player for the last two seasons and looks like he is about to be again (it's still only January) so like i said, saying "I'll wait and see what happens" starts to look silly three seasons later. Not convinced by that at all I’m afraid. Look at the stats: Harrison scored 18 (I don’t think I’ve missed any, have I?) in all competitions in our season in the Conference but only 14 of those were in the league. In League Two last season he scored 7 league goals, including 3 penalties, in 30 odd starts and a fair few sub appearances (I don’t have the time nor the inclination to look up his figures for cup games but I don’t remember him getting three cup goals last season, although I’m happy to be proven wrong). Including this season and his fantastic four on Saturday he has 29 league goals since the beginning of the 2014/2015 season, two more than Matty scored in 2015/16 alone. At the beginning of the Conference season it wasn’t a given that he would be with us for the duration as he was on the transfer list, so I think for fans to “wait and see” was more than fair. During our year in the Conference he scored some good goals and some vital ones during the run in (not to mention that his goal at Wembley might be one of the most important in Rovers’ history), and a good amount but I don’t think he set the world alight by any means. He deserves a lot of credit for the way he forced his way back in to the squad having been transfer listed after the relegation though but a promotion to League Two was always going to offer him a new set of challenges. Being back in League Two meant that everybody was under scrutiny, not just Harrison. He started brightly but his return of 7 league goals is pretty poor, especially in a side that achieved promotion. On balance I don’t think he had a bad season but I certainly don’t think he had a good one and I wasn’t too enthralled at the prospect of him leading the line in League One although I hoped Clarke would give him a chance to prove his worth as he has shown that he’ll work hard when asked to. This season he seems to be playing quite well although circumstance has conspired to keep me away from the Mem more frequently than I’d like and I’ve not seen him play that often. The fact that he has already matched his tally at a higher level than last season and we’re only a fraction over half way through the fixture list is certainly promising but to say anything has been proven is ridiculous. More to the point, to accuse other Rovers fans of “bullsh*tting” and “ignoring the evidence” (which is what exactly?) because of a difference of opinion about a player who has blown hot and cold for a long time is just plain rude.
