So following the interview last night and and as we know, there will be more departures. I can see these as;
- Baldwin - Westbrook - Liddle - Hargreaves - Barrett
Anyone else have any thoughts

I can't believe they are still here to be honest, maybe last night was their final chance to prove themselves, I'd be glad to see the back of all of them.

Is it just me that is fuming after watching the post Cheltenham interview?
JB is talking like he has just arrived at the club and is trying to sort the "mess" out. He is complaining about the high turnover of players and the injuries.
These are problems that HE chose to create. He chose to start again rather than build on the existing team.
He slated the Ben Garner pre-season for creating unfit players, and look at where we are now. Having to play youngsters and players widly out of position just to field a team.
Fuming I am. I don't like all this complaining and excuses from the manager.
Yes, it is still early days and I will reserve judgement on JB until the end of October at the earliest.
If we are to be promoted, we cannot afford to write off the months of August and September just because players are not fit.

Ironically, Kyle Bennett offered more return for the wages than most on that list. Imagine being able to say that a year or two back!!

Needs a top salesperson to even get anyone interested.

richmace, They are not excuses though are they. They are facts. Its ok saying he chose to not build on the current team but can you honestly say that you would want to build on the players we had last season? Last nights team was nowhere near the best team he could have put out but had he put a strong team out and lost two of them to injuries people would be saying he should have played a weakened side. Who would be a Manager eh?

If Nicholson etc are back on Saturday, I think that would be a good benchmark

Westbrook reminds me of a person who is on the field of play but has a vacant demeanor as if the light is not on. The Players who are not wanted must know that and are not performing to an adequate standard, so as long as we have to depend on them we will continue to lose. Returning Players will need time to become match fit and what I find disturbing is the sheer number who are injured. It is around 10 with the addition of the suspended Coutts. They are training on a replica To the Mem pitch which is a fantastic surface so why all of these injuries which has put us at a massive disadvantage for the start of the season with little sign of meaningful change any time soon. I am sick of the never ending stream of defeats.

His strength is deadball but is now not even capable or entrusted enough to take those anymore. We play with 10 when he is on the pitch

I am sick of the never ending stream of defeats. if you watch any good creative midfield player they come looking for the ball , pick it up sometimes deep and then go forward with it- looking to see how they can set up an attack. Last night everytime that Westbrook picked up the ball he was under pressure with his back to goal and mostly what he did was play it backwards to a safe player. It is our central defenders who push forward apart from Grant occasionally dropping deeper and then try to spray a long ball forward. Thomas has the ability if someone can play alongside him and hopefully Sammy Nicholson will do just that . As much as we need a striker we badly need a creative midfield player worth his salt who is going to comen looking for the ball and make things happen.

Who would be a Manager eh? Fair play to you Steve, I think you are the eternal optimist. As I said in another post I think with the number of what seem to be injury prone players we have we will rarely see a full strength 11. Pre season, Mansfield and last night shows we do not have the right strength in depth to cover for the injuries and will not get the required results because of it. JB states he wants to bring more in and lose some but that will not be an easy task as the previous 2 transfer windows have shown - especially regarding a proven goal scoring striker

The following can definitely go:
Westbrooke Liddle Barrett Hargreaves
I wouldn't lose sleep if any of these move on:
Baldwin Harries Grant
If Hanlan is to leave I'd expect a quality replacement because I think he has the potential to do better than we saw last season, particularly IF our midfield can start to create chances and dominate possession. Big IF I know.
