We don't generally have a policy of signing strikers who are proven at this level. That doesn't mean we haven't had strikers who score goals - would you like me to name them? I agree that we've had strikers who score goals (even Tom Nichols scored more than one). I just can't think of many who relocated on a one year deal in the last 5 years. I don't follow why a one year deal is the criteria?

Don't rate JCH or Harrison or Taylor or Bodin or Easter or Lambert or Walker then? Fair enough. Very hard to please. you are the one who says it's not a problem and named strikers that covered how many years?3 out of 137 maybe get behind a brand new team could be a option for some. Eh? Because I don't agree that having two unfit strikers in, probably, their last year of league football I should support a different team? Are you sure that definitely makes sense? Maybe you can talk me through how you've reached that conclusion? Or ... sorry ... did you want me to name every striker we've had in the history of the club? I'm not clear on what your point is? I didn't go back far enough? Have you absolutely definitely thought this through?

Yes must be the owner!!!! Really, we are in the bottom league so money may not work, players have to want to come. Your theory it's the owner, is that why we have not signed Andy Carroll? He's sitting around doing nothing....... We weren't bottom in the summer when we started our recruitment, we looked to most observers as potential promotion contenders, we probably still are I'd we had a goalscorer.

But who's fault is it we could only sign 30+ year olds, I can't really see JB signing them if he could sign under 30 year olds, so it must come down to lack of finance from Wael. There's always the chance they wouldn't sign because of the JB factor but that hasn't stopped all the other's signing and I'm sure if we offered them a few £'s more they'd soon forget who was our manager. That £800K(?) JB says was cut from the wage bill this season had to be made somewhere. I see Ayunga's been out injured for a few weeks again so signing a younger striker is no guarantee they'll remain fit. So despite JB saying the owner has backed him and he's solely responsible for recruitment - the recruitment isn't his fault? This is just getting silly now. JB can only spend what Wael's given him, JB's made it clear his budgets been cut by £800K(?) as I said earlier why would JB sign two over 30's if he could afford younger strikers, it's not like Pitman and Clarke are two of his Merseyside mates of old. There must be some reason BG, PT & JB have all struggled a decent striker, even GC got a bit lucky with JCH as he could have just as easy been another Payne.

I don't follow why a one year deal is the criteria? That was the criteria which bluebiro referred to, in order to be comparable to Pitman and Clarke, to which you replied that it hadn't been a problem for the last 127 years. Removing the criteria, I think that JCH is the only decent striker we've signed since DC left, and that may well have been a lucky punt, given his previous record. Oh for the halycon days of Stewart, Beadle, etc!

Just once every 5(?) years players though? Add Hoskins, Lambo and JCH to the list, what's hard to understand I'd why we let them all go so cheaply

Does anyone else think the only reason Nicholson signed for us is that he had hidden injury problems and no one else would take him? How did we not learn from all the injuries last season signing a bunch more injured players?

Why does he take so long to heal every time?

Regardless Wael's, yet again, made a hopeless job in recruiting a manager. He should have told Mansfield to f off when they wanted to appoint GC, then appointed an experienced manager rather than cone boy to replace GC. Tisdale was yet an another hopeless appointment.
