When was the last time a league club was relegated in October, particularly one not even in the relegation zone? Last year, Bristol Rovers FC, under Ben Garner. How we managed to stay out of the relegation spots at the start of the season I do not know. We were destined for relegation. Never knew that was a fact! My belief is that we would not have been relegated under Garner. Another window to change the squad would have been enough to stay up. Suggest Sat proved what he is capable of. And Sat proved what JB is capable of, or should that be culpable?

This poll should be a vote on whether Starnes goes or not. Get rid now and bring someone competent in. That way we see it JB is the problem or it’s the CEO. If JB doesn’t improve by end of November then you change him. If Widdrington has been sidelined and nothing has changed the only remaining common denominator is Starnes. Starnes Out And Wael. I do wonder how much influence Starnes has. Tisdale was his appointment, and presumably he helped Garner out the door. I suspect Barton’s appointment- and continued employment- is all Wael, and Starnes has been sidelined since February. It wouldn’t surprise me if he left, but would make zero difference. The problem with the club is the toxicity - that comes from the very top. I’m not saying Wael himself is a toxic individual, but the way he runs the club encourages that behaviour from others - anyone unfortunate enough to have worked in a toxic workplace will understand. It seems he is unable to tolerate criticism at all, especially looking at the unnecessary fallings out with fan groups etc. This encourages snakey types to push their agenda through ass kissing and slating those they consider a threat.

Starnes Out That doesn't really make sense. Starnes may be at fault for appointing Joey - and that is bad enough for him to lose his job. However, why do you think sacking Starnes now is likely to improve Joey's ability to manage a football team? I very much doubt Starnes picks the team, or has input on tactical approach, so why would sacking Starnes prove if JB is the problem or not? IMO they're both the problem. There are too many people on here trying to find excuses for Barton (not aimed at you directly). Managers have worked at clubs in FAR worse turmoil than ours and got results. So even if this magical, mystery mess Barton keeps banding on about STILL exists after his Great Reset, then - I'm sorry - but that doesn't stop him winning football matches FFS. The bloke is a useless, completely incompetent manager, who we need rid of ASAP.

Ultimately we are going to have to stop sacking managers every few months and stick with someone. But for the love of god if the manager roundabout does have to stop can we please not let it stop while JB is at the helm. Of all of the managers he's got to be the one I would least like to be lumbered with. If he was getting results it might be a little different but he doesn't even look close to getting results most of the time.
I really like Wael but I just don't understand what a mild mannered guy like him is doing indulging this Joey Barton lunacy.

Yes - ultimately it stops when you find a manager who is list reasonably good at the job they are employed to do. As you say - that is not Barton, who is the worst manager in our history.

From the BP just now:
"I went to church on Wednesday and I had a good hour alone with my thoughts and I realised I’ve been sent here to help this football club out of the doldrums."
JB clearly thinks he's the Messiah! Well as far as I'm concerned JB, the football club is more in the doldrums now that you've taken control of nearly everything and everyone!

What.... the....
"I’m doing it for charity. It’s the Bristol Rovers charity I’m doing it for. I’m not doing it for any money. I don’t earn any money out of it and I’m doing it because Wael Al-Qadi is a superb guy, a superb owner. Arguably the best owner I am likely to work with in my time in football.
The way he looks after players, the way he treats his football club, the money he has put in, I think it’s an objective marker point to see how much he cares about it. I’ve come here to help him.
As a by-product of that, I knew there was a fanbase here that was in the doldrums for a long period of time and doesn’t know what good looks and feels like, it doesn’t know what success is, it hasn’t had enough of it in its 138 year history."

So is Barton not being paid?? That would maybe explain why Wael is keeping him on!!!!

Something is just so wrong on so many levels when you hear this. You can just see exactly how he is manipulating Wael. And then you start to ask why. He’s (allegedly) a millionaire in his own right, possibly about to go to prison. Why would he even want to be here away from his family? For free?

Anyone spot the flaw in this reasoning?
"I’ve got 10 games where I can sit down and take an objective marker. In the 40 games (before my arrival) the club won nine games. In the 30 games I’ve been here, I’ve won six league games.
"I’ve got 10 games to win three games to be level par for what’s gone before, but I’ve got to be better than what’s gone before because that’s progress.
"If we win four games, even if it’s only by one game, we’re better than what’s gone before. They are the objective marker points."

This press conference has to be the biggest pile of crap in the long history of BRFC, is there no end to this man's delusion?.
