Have we or any other club ever had a manager whose every word, action, decision is scrutinised with a fine tooth comb in order to find controversy? Admittedly there are times when you do not have to comb too fine to find what you want and JB would be well served by a speech writer /checker who could advise him on what phrases /statements are likely to cause adverse reactions, after all many of the great orators, statesmen, leaders employ such people to keep them out of trouble, not that i am putting JB in that category! As far as this latest furore that surrounds his recent controversial language his critics are refusing to give any credence to the view that the offending word was used in general terms , as in dictionary, and will not acknowledge that the absence of the word 'the' puts the use of the word in to a totally different bracket. There are some on here who will not give JB any slack in his efforts to move on from his past and he would be wasting his time trying to win them over, they are entitled to that view although it is not a philosophy i am at ease with in life in general, how many of us have made mistakes and benefitted from being given a chance to redeem ourselves? (not another poll please!)Many media outlets have jumped on the bandwagon from The Post upwards and IMHO the reaction is way over the top. The club could certainly have helped to smooth things over by issuing a statement explaining the context in which the word was used and that they had advised JB of the importance of 'thinking' before using such words and there silence is regrettable, watch this space. As for JB i have said before nothing would please me more than to see him prove the doubters wrong and i judge him purely on football matters. In this Context he spent last season lambasting the squad and those who assembled and coached it, he was give license to rewrite the script , change the characters and write his own story lines, fair enough most thought and this he has done. The result of this rewrite we now see, in mho the squad is no better than last year, it is arguably worse, the performances are no better despite playing at a lower level, and whereas the likes of Oldham, Walsall seemed to be improving i do not see it with Rovers, it is all very disappointing and worrying. I think back to Swindon preseason, a basket case it seemed with no players and a manager who lasted a few days , enter BG and hey presto look at them now, funny ole game in nit! I have willed JB to get it right on field ( that was my only concern) but it aint happening and as they say on Dragons Den it is for this reason i am now , regrettably, out. UP the Rovers ! Bloody hell Halifax! You know the tide is turning when people like yourself have had enough of the Barton show

Thing that gets me about JB is it is always someone else's fault never his, we all make mistakes and in JB's case more than most people, I just wish he would be less arrogant and admit to his failings.

Yes, I guess it is an apology, a bit half hearted but it’s an apology. Shame it didn’t come on Saturday night or Sunday which would have been better and would have avoided all the aggro this week. Doesn't alter the fact that his record as manager of BRFC is woeful and for that alone he should go. UTG!

Joey's certainly raising the media profile of the club. No-one speaks of Bristol City these days. Perhaps this was Wael's plan all along. Brilliant in theory but somewhat flawed in execution.

More PR... (although these are as bad as The Sun) You mean as good as the Sun. I don’t read them but they give the common man an unbiased news source to help make them make informed opinion and electoral decisions.

Rod Liddle - the guy who said he didn't become a teacher because he would have shagged all the Year 10 girls.

As good as The Sun at being bad would suffice

I wouldn't choose either but it's a bit of a shame that anyone would turn to the odious Liddle in any circumstance.

He is a ghastly man - although I watched that whole interview , surprisingly judging by how he feels about Barton , he implied that he thought there had been an over reaction to Barton’s latest ‘misdemeanour’ .🤔💙

Unsurprisingly getting a bit of stick for his obviously rather insincere apology blah blah blah.

Even Andrew Neil left them for being too right wing We have a huge conservative majority in this country, so right wing is normal and thus unbiased.
