Essex Senior League what level is that, most likely below Swindon Submarines where our own Kieran Phillips is now playing and scoring? If Wael is serious about a promotion push he's got to back the manager this January and sign a proven striker or two. Wael has consistently backed his managers, salary caps/squad size will restrict what the manager can achieve in the January window Squad size is not an issue as we've at least one spare place, I doubt we're anywhere near our salary cap unless we're paying the likes of Whelan and L Clarke silly money. If we are then how do the likes of Harrogate, Hartlepool and Mansfield sign so many quality strikers with lower turnovers?

Kone has had a trial with Colchester. Yes, scored a worldie and then cut it short to have a trial with Brentford. So virtually no chance we'd ever sign him anyway.

Get Richard Kone from Athletic Newham in on trial. Quite clearly playing below his natural level and knows where the back of the net is. Two footed, pacey, powerful and only 19-year-old so wouldn't count towards the squad size restrictions. A low level but 25 goals already this season is impressive. No harm in trialling the lad. Sounds like he could give us a lift or at escalate our goal threat. Recruiting him could be a sliding doors moment, and although I’m sure his career will have many ups and downs, as long as he pushes the right buttons he will eventually get to the top. 😂

Hate these threads it’s like we all know better. Definitely missed all the noise saying we should have signed players like Telford, we should deffo be giving our own players more of a chance in the first instance

As far as our own strikers, where's Zain Walker gone, as he seemed to be on the verge of breaking into the starting 11 but now doesn't even make the match day squad.

Strange though it may seem we do not seem to have any problem scoring at the moment and i would very much like to see us stabilise the back 4 and stop gifting goals away by silly mistakes, never the less would not say know to a goal poacher aka Richard Walker as well! Richard Walker seen at Beer Albion this season. NB.Luke Leahy score again today. Looks pretty trim, re-sign him!

When John Ward was boss we needed a striker or two to avoid the Conference but amazingly not one was signed.Think our scouting network needs seriously upgrading. Didn’t we get goal machine Beardsley?

He scored 2 on his debut at Dorchester, but then failed to score in his next 4 appearances and was sent back to Rovers at the end of his month. Let's hope he can keep his goalscoring form going this time and give Joey something to think about.

There’s an echo in here Pirate
Think Dorchester signed a full time permanent striker at the same time so probably not the best environment for a loanee
Agree , let’s hope he can stick a few more in at supermarine

After not setting the world alight at Dorchester and failing to score in 5 appearances for Chippenham last season, Phillips could do with impressing in this latest loan spell.

I would have liked to have given Ayunga another go in league two, but at the end of the day he had a chance to go back to league one so its unlikely he would have wanted to stay anyway! As for Telford, I think we did the right thing at the time but not trying to sign him. We were in league one and doing ok. He is a good league two striker though.

I'd like us to sign a player similar to Simpson at Swindon, looked very raw to start with but looks a real handful now. Don't know where he came from? Or his record before Swindon?. We'd do better to sign a player with all the physical attributes and develop him ourselves rather than look for someone that is never going to come to us.

I was impressed by the lad Jeffers at St Albans in yesterday's televised tie, anyone else?

Assuming it's Shaun Jeffers, he's 29 and before this season has only previously had one good goal scoring season, the others he's hardly ever got put of single figures, he's a former Coventry City player.

Pirate how much did Chesterfield pay for Tshimanga a guy like that was what we needed I was banging the drum for us to sign him for 6 months before he signed for Chesterfield. Look at him now. He's the new Barry Hayles. All fell on deaf ears. It shows how lowly we've fallen that little Chesterfield can afford to buy him for 200k but we can't with wael's millions. Anyway, that ship has sailed. We should target josh walker at dagenham and Redbridge. He would be the answer to our goalscoring prayers.
