Nothing like a mid week over reaction eh It was a very good performance overall. I was as critical as the next Gashead a few weeks back, but credit is due for another decent performance. We should have won that and if we had a genuine centre forward on the pitch in the last few minutes, we quite possibly would have.

Expected result from a very tired rovers. Knew they could take the lead but would have to hang on a bit. As i suspected TRFC battled hard ,they were a dirty dirty side though but the ref let them get away with it. Shame Rovers couldnt grab the winner as overall they deserved it.

Disappointing after being 2 up and the chances we created but at least it's another point. I think we can keep the run going and challenge for the play offs.

Sounds like we could have won today. Hardly surprising if we tired after Oxford. Generally good momentum. Keep it up, Gas!

Sounds like we could have won today. Hardly surprising if we tired after Oxford. Generally good momentum. Keep it up, Gas! Professional footballers paid to do a job, hopefully fit and healthy, played on on Tuesday and still tired on Saturday. Surely they are fitter than that. If not fit enough and still tired god help them if ever they had to get a proper job.

Didn’t see it today. Disappointed we didn’t keep the win but our form is definitely heading in the right direction.
Still early days.

Tranmere deserved their draw after coming from two down they kept going and late chance by Nicholson was poorly executed.
Evans did very well again.

Frustrating because we had enough chances to win the game but at least the lads kept going to make sure we got at least a point. I thought when Tranmere equalised they had the momentum and looked the more like winners but we actually got back on top and created a couple of really good chances to get the winner. Not the end of the world and there were some excellent performances, Evans and Finley were superb, but still a shame not to take maximum points after being 2-0 up.
However, the improvement from 6 weeks ago is there for all to see and there are plenty of encouraging signs for the rest of the season.

Two unforced substitutions hampered us today. Why did we make them if they were not forced?

Two unforced substitutions hampered us today. Spence wasn't really influencing the game so I thought it was the right move to take him off. Maybe a like for like with Collins or Thomas would have worked better then Whelan but I can understand the change.
Kilgour was injured so no choice there. Unfortunaly bringing on Anderton meant we had to then move Grant to centre back and latterly right back where he struggled. Thought Grant looked a bit tired towards the end. Not too surprising as he's returning to full fitness after an injury.
Anderson also looked tired and his weak challenge led to the corner from which they equalised. I don't think he had the legs to see out the 90 having played the full 120 on Tuesday.

Two points dropped as The Gas let slip a comfortable two goal lead. It was a game of two halves, with Bristol Rovers having the better of the first half and Tranmere Rovers dominating the second half. The Gas had chances to win the game, with an open goal missed right at the end.
The game started perfectly for The Gas, with a goal within the first five minutes. Josh Grant rose to head The Gas in front, the perfect delivery met with the perfect finish. The Gas made it 2-0 with a goal from a corner on the left side, slotted home from within six yards by Sam Nicholson.
Tranmere Rovers pulled a goal back with their only chance in the first half, a hopeful cross was not dealt with and the Tranmere player managed to drag the ball back and place it round James Belshaw.
James Belshaw made a superb save just before half time to ensure that The Gas went into the break in the lead.
The feeling at this point was that the game was fully in control, and it was only a matter of time before we would score again. Alas, that did not happen and the second half was largely dominated by Tranmere Rovers who managed to keep us pegged back inside our own half for large periods of the half.
Approaching the hour mark, Bristol Rovers have taken their foot of the Gas. inviting Tranmere Rovers on to them. They need to step up the tempo and play with a sense of urgency.
With fifteen minutes to go, the Tranmere pressure paid off as the visitors equalised.
The match ended 2-2 with both teams having chances in the last few minutes to win the game. The move of the game resulted in Sam Nicholson with a golden opportunity to take all three points with a clear shot on goal from twelve yards. Unfortunately, the shot was dragged wide.
Another point gained and a reasonable performance from The Gas. I felt that this game was there for the taking and it feels like two points dropped. Still, four points out of the last two games is a good return and something to build upon. We are only four points off the playoffs so there is everything to play for and the team are performing much better than they were one month ago.
