Is the Bobby Davro look-alike still on board only he's in Panto at Crewe. Well at least he didn't start shoving over young ball boys who did not return the ball quickly enough like one of Barton's mates currently on the coaching staff.

I didn't see that incident (totally out of order btw) but I did notice the ball boys staying put a lot when the ball went out of play. I can understand at the end of the game if we are winning, but this started in the first half?

One thing intrigues me Mario, you have chosen a username which represents someone very similar to Joey, actions such as throwing darts at youth players at Man City, fighting with his manager, multiple cases of fracas with teammates needing to restrained, a 4 game ban for stamping on a players head etc. Are you just a big fan of his or is there a reason, just interested that’s all 👍

Interesting legal debate from all you 'Rumpoles'! to add M.H.O, its over so lets move on. Well said, totally agree, Joey is innocent, and found not guilty, by 10-0, lets move on.

If I remember correctly, it was widely reported that Barton had viciously attacked Stendel, knocked several teeth out and left him with nasty head injuries. When it came to trial it had suddenly become a shove from behind, let's wait and see what the kick in the head becomes considering like Stendel his wife did not require hospital treatment. Yep, wives are always phoning the police asking for help then changing their minds about giving evidence. That's why wife-beaters so often get away with it unfortunately and why it's important for this case to proceed. Still, as in the last case the onus will be on the prosecution to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the injury Mrs Barton suffered was the result of an assault by her husband and no one seems willing to testify to that. Another mysterious injury it would seem. A lot of people lie when drunk and then regret it after. So she could have made up in the heat of the moment, as a form of attacking him. But he could of done it and he lied after. Only people that will ever know the truth, are the four that were there. These cases are so hard, yes some women change their mind and cover up, but others do lie in the first place!!!

In other words, you pick and chose when this can be applied. No it's not me it's the law, please see my previous post on 47 Our criminal justice system does not seek to prove innocence in court, the judgement is guilty or not guilty. Not guilty simply means that the defendant was not found beyond reasonable doubt to have committed the offence charged with. If a suspect is proven to be innocent, that would normally happen at the investigation stage where evidence proving innocence is produced. If such evidence exists, the case should never go to court. So in this case, the court found that the prosecution had not proved their case beyond reasonable doubt.

Don't think Balotelli is quite on Bartons level though? Not excusing his behaviour at all, the guy was a clown in the way he acted just think it's pretty non comparable to JB. July 2004 – Sparks a mass brawl in a pre-season "friendly" against Doncaster. December 2004 – A Christmas bash for Manchester City players sees him stub a lit cigar into the eye of young team-mate Jamie Tandy. He is fined six weeks' wages by City. May 2005 – Breaks the leg of a 35-year-old pedestrian while driving his car at 2am in Liverpool city centre. June 2005 - Bust up with a 15 year old and team mate Richard Dunne in Bangkok. March 2007 – Arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage in an incident involving a taxi driver. He is alleged to have ripped out the cabbie's radio because he would not wait at a McDonald's drive-through while Barton got food. He is later found not guilty of vandalising the taxi. His cousin, Joshua Wilson, 19, admitted doing the damage. May 2007 – Involved in a training ground incident with Manchester City team-mate Ousmane Dabo, who presses charges. Barton admits assault and in July 2008 is given a four-month suspended jail sentence. In November 2008 he is also given a six-match ban, with a further six suspended, after admitting an FA violent conduct charge relating to the incident. December 2007 – Sits out Newcastle's Boxing Day game through injury, but goes drinking in Liverpool city centre afterwards. In the early hours of December 27 he gets into a row in a McDonald's and violence again breaks out. Drunk, Barton straddles his victim, punching him repeatedly in the face. He is refused bail and is forced to spend the New Year behind bars. May 2008 - Admits assault and affray and is jailed for six months, of which he serves 74 days at Strangeways prison in Manchester, November 2010 – Charged with violent conduct by the FA after allegedly punching Blackburn's Morten Gamst Pedersen during their Premier League match. January 2012 – Is sent-off against Norwich City for headbutting Norwich's Bradley Johnson. The decision is vigorously contested by Barton but he loses his appeal. May 2012 - Barton was sent-off for elbowing Manchester City's Carlos Tevez and was later found guilty of kneeing Sergio Aguero from behind then headbutting Vincent Kompany. April 2013 – His loan club Marseille are forced to apologise to PSG after Barton gets involved in a Twitter row with Thiago Silva, calling him an " overweight ladyboy". September 2016 – Barton is sent away from the Rangers training ground after an alleged altercation with Any Halliday, a team-mate, following a 5-1 defeat by Old Firm rivals Celtic. Later apologises "unreservedly" on Twitter. Can you find a list that long of Marios crimes?

Please can we lock this thread now and then have a new one at his next court date? For this incident he has been found not guilty and so in the eyes of the law he has done nothing wrong yet here we are pages later with people now going on about the alleged wife beating incident (which is yet to be heard and NO-ONE other than those who were there knows what happened) and bringing up Barton’s past misdemeanours that have been debated to death previously and as has been said multiple times - there are 2 sides to every story and without condoning the actions he took, in many of the incidents there was provocation… they were also many years ago….
I appreciate that there are many people who do not like Joey Barton and others who are more supportive of him, but this constant tit for tat going round in circles is tiresome and helps no one and just builds up more and more frustration… Me personally am indifferent towards him as a person, I just care about the club and our team performances and I also believe that people can change and if they have been punished for things they have done in the past then that should be it about those events…
Anyway, not the most exciting of FA Cup draws was it? Still chance to see JCH again although he’s not been scoring much this season I don’t think….

I have learnt something from this which is how I grasp at conclusions both for and against Barton just to put this to rest.
I am guilty of using evidence without proper consideration which is why they have trial by jury and 12 jurors so there is no individual bias. Once my conclusions were under scrutiny from the forum they lost their certainty.
There's no doubt though he is a divisive character and now we have to go through it all again.
