When is Barton's first appearance in court? I thought it was tomorrow. I know the domestic abuse case is in December. Maybe they are just waiting until he does something else and can coral them altogether!!

Last time it was adjourned the new date was set for tomorrow at Sheffield crown court, not long to wait now.

What is he actually charged with? Is it common assault, or something extra involving ABH or GBH?

Radio Bristol. Keith Brookman and Alistair Durden with commentary. Probably just describing the decor in the courtroom rather than describing the action. Jerry Prewett might text in from Perth with some useless info about private life of the Clerk of the court. Afterwards they will interview someone. I bet she is called Lucy, so predictable.

Wonder if Stendel will turn up?
Although ABH is a more serious charge than assault by beating, this case, even if it goes ahead and he's found guilty, is unlikely to end Barton's career at the Gas.
It's the kicking your wife in the head case that will finish his time with us if found guilty. Think that case is in December?

IF Barton is found guilty I believe he will be sacked immediately afterwards. Wael told us all that he will not condone violence of any kind and that anything like that would see the person in question sacked immediately. As such, IF Barton is found guilty - irrespective of the punishment - he will in theory be sacked almost instantaneously. Unless Wael goes back on his word of course...

"charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm" Yep someone apparently pushed Stendel over from behind and damaged a tooth or two and cut his mouth. Guess the outcome will depend on who saw the person who did it? Guess the defense is either no one saw me or Standel tripped as some brushed past him. By guess is no show from Stendel and case dropped. Either way not career ending.

Yep Wael did suggest Barton might be sacked if guilty but as Wael knew about the charge when he gave him the job, I just can't see him being sacked even if found guilty. My guess is the case will collapse. The outcry if found guilty of kicking his wife would force Wael's hand and he would be gone the same day.

If he is found guilty and goes to prison he will be unable to turn up for work and, therefore, in breach of his contract. That means dismissal without compensation. Love him or hate him that’s the last thing we need for the team.

As we're clearly improving on the pitch I hope he's innocent of both charges and found not guilty. The last thing we need is another change of manager just as we're starting to make some progress.

As we've clearly been sh**e 99% of his time here, I hope he's found guilty of both charges. The last thing we need is another year of his crap results with 10 wins in 41 games and the shame he brings on the club.

As we're clearly improving on the pitch I hope he's innocent of both charges and found not guilty. The last thing we need is another change of manager just as we're starting to make some progress. If he did the things he is accused of then I personally hope justice is served and he is found guilty. Regardless of how well he is or isn't doing. I do think that, of the two cases, the one tomorrow is least likely to impact his career with us. If they somehow manage to find him guilty I don't imagine it will be a custodial sentence - and we recruited him knowing about the trial and the potential for him to be guilty. So I can't see them sacking him over that. Although it can't help our preparation for FGR on Saturday. If he gets found guilty on the domestic violence charge he will rightly be sacked. I do wonder what that would mean for some of our players who will only have 6 months left on their contracts in January though. You wonder if they might hold off signing extensions until they know who will be in charge next season?
