Playoffs maybe... just maybe Surely he doesnt think a bunch of thugs can make the play offs? I dont think we'll make them, but wouldn't it be a beautiful Scene? First game 0-1 Rovers lose Second game 1-1 draw Play offs 1-0 Rovers win Almost poetic

When Garner was running our team , We had no spirit and no fight so we must be improving.

If it wasn't for the win against Sunderland prior to the first Covid lockdown, BG was surely headed out of the door. In hindsight, a new manager to steer us through the 2020-21 season would have led to a different outcome.
Having said that, I feel happier now that Widdrington no longer has any input to the club. Did any manager do well during Widdringtons reign? GC I guess, but he left/was pushed. Was GC leaving also down to TW?

It's always amazed me how Wael recruited Ben and later Joey, presumably thinking b each was right for the job at the time. I can't imagine two more different characters as football managers. No idea how Wael's mind works. I thought this too and found it hard to believe Joeyw as even linked with our job at the time, based on this. I can only assume he had just thought f**k it, worth a shot at that point!

Let’s hope our goal in that scenario is 90+7

He probably thought I don’t want anything like Garner ever again. If you get burned by an ex you don’t go after her best mate you pick some she hates My guess is that he did what he thought was the right thing by buying the vision of Starnes and Widds, and Joey basically dropped some red pill bombs about how the club was in a shambles. To be fair to Garner, I get the feeling he was there because his vulnerable “first ever management job” meant he would be a yes-man in the system, and when the wheels fell off TW stabbed him in the back, and then did the same to PT. The fact the TW big job after JB joined was shipping out his crap was symbolic of how Joey snd Wael’s discussion went down, and like him or hate him, Joey is the kind of guy who has no issues being candid about it. The previous regime failed, totally and utterly, despite Wael’s backing, and that’s exactly why I wanted someone with a pair of knackers in charge because the dead wood needed cutting adrift.

Was GC leaving also down to TW? No idea Summer 21 Tommy Widds did his Hartlepool interview and was waxing lyrical about how GCs ideas were out of fashion and he just wanted to bring in players like Abu Ogogo and Tony Craig. And that things were going to be so much better with his trendy new forward thinking recruitment. That worked out well…
