Random stat for you...
Since the defeat away to Hartlepool on the 11th Sept we have only failed to score in 1 game in all competitions (2-0 defeat away to FGR).

Thought I’d have a look at their recent results, as I’ve seen a few mentions of their ‘decent’ form of late…can’t seem to find it though 😂 Since Boxing Day: Oldham 1 - 3 Scunny Barrow 0 - 0 Oldham Hartlepool 0 - 0 Oldham Harrogate 3-0 Oldham Oldham 0 - 0 Rochdale Scunny 0 - 1 Oldham Whilst we are 4 wins and 2 draws in the last six and haven’t failed to score a goal in all comps, since FGR over two months ago. An early goal will be very welcome tomorrow night. Hardly that random when another poster posted the same stat earlier this evening? A nice try at a bit of plagiarism?

Difficult to judge this one. Both sides are in form. On paper we're better than Oldham but it's away and it's grim up North. I think a point would be respectable, but that would mean only 2 points out of last 6 gained, which won't help the playoff charge. How can you say Oldham are in form when they've won one game in the last 6 games and that was against the bottom of the table side we could have put 5 or 6 goals past? Unless we fail to turn up tomorrow then this is a game we should win, in fact, if we don't we can really forget all about making the play offs, as I doubt we'll get an easier away game for the rest of this season.

Worth noting:
The Latics fan base is currently buzzing. They genuinely believe they can avoid relegation.
They are talking about 19 Cup Finals to come. 1,500 went to watch their weekend victory.
Recently they have had three 0-0 draws and are fighting hard for John Sheridan.
He has a long established connection with the club and fans.
On their day they have troubled the best teams in this division.
Beaten Sutton United 2-1. Beat Port Vale 3-2. Drew 5-5 with Forest Green Rovers in December.
If they score first the game will be extremely tough. They are committed and uncompromising.
Shame Ryan Loft may not be fit.
Hope we gain 3 points but this match will not be a walk in the park.

What has happened to Loft? Have we signed an(other) injured/injury prone player?

Agreed. They are going to fight every ball, never underestimate them, or their biggest threat will be our complacency 👍

Isn't it a case with every L2 side as if any team scores first then it's likely a draw will be the best outcome away from home? We just need to silence the crowd and ensure we score first, lose this one and we may as well start planning for L2 next season, as Mansfield, Sutton, (Stevenage?) Orient and Exeter look far harder opposition.

It certainly is worth noting Sir Trev, hope it makes fans realise that the game is not an easy 3 points as some seem to think, but i doubt it!

Oldham have only lost 1 of their last 5 league games so have seen a slight upturn in form. Since the new manager came in they've picked up 4 points from 2 games and haven't conceded a goal. They're 5 points from safety but have games in hand on the teams above them, so still every chance of avoiding the drop if their improvement continues. Their confidence will have been boosted by a late winner in their relegation 6 pointer with Scunthorpe so they'll come into this game looking for another win. However, we're in good form too and after a hard-fought point at Sutton, really need to pick up all 3 to keep in touch with the top 7. I'd go: Jaakkola Hoole Taylor Connolly Grant Coutts Finley E.Anderson Evans Nicholson Collins Subs: Ward, Anderton, Whelan, H.Anderson, Thomas, Spence, Saunders I'm assuming Finley is fit and Belshaw, Kilgour, Rodman, T.Clarke, Nolan, Loft and L.Clarke are still unavailable. I wouldn’t drop Thomas at the moment. Been brilliant every game at tracking, recycling play and placing balls where they should be. I’d start with EA and have Finley on the bench and give him a good 60 mins from the start to see how he copes.

Good interview with JB suggest he will take nothing for granted and I can see our next double Tuesday. 2-0 win for me with Elliott scoring. Just hoping the 6 teams above us all fail to win Tuesday
