Think Hoole (1 game suspension?)should be back plus Finley, unless JB is playing games saying he was 24/48 hours away from being ready for Sutton.Nolan possible up for selection for the Mansfield game so along with Elliot Anderson we may soon have a high quality midfield selection problem,a good problem mind.

I would like to see us change it right up, give H Anderson a start - that guy doesn't let us down, also Saunders chomping at the bit (think he scored against Oldham last time). Get the feeling we have a few players limping on and with so many games coming thick and fast it would be a good opportunity for a little rotation.
I know its important to get a win and we need to balance it off but this could be key for the outcome of the season!

Some friends of mine who are die hard Newcastle fans said they are going to gas games now we have Elliot Anderson playing for us
They said he is utterly brilliant and they watched him against Arsenal and thought he was outstanding !
They are going to Oldham to watch him, silly sods lol

When we won there couple of years back with the Chelsea loanees both scoring we found a pub at the back of the ground and they had had a party fail to show but they'd paid for the buffet so we had it all for free. Oldham is as bad a town as Blackburn but nice ground

Oldham have only lost 1 of their last 5 league games so have seen a slight upturn in form. Since the new manager came in they've picked up 4 points from 2 games and haven't conceded a goal.
They're 5 points from safety but have games in hand on the teams above them, so still every chance of avoiding the drop if their improvement continues.
Their confidence will have been boosted by a late winner in their relegation 6 pointer with Scunthorpe so they'll come into this game looking for another win.
However, we're in good form too and after a hard-fought point at Sutton, really need to pick up all 3 to keep in touch with the top 7.
I'd go:
Jaakkola
Hoole Taylor Connolly Grant
Coutts Finley
E.Anderson Evans Nicholson
Collins
Subs: Ward, Anderton, Whelan, H.Anderson, Thomas, Spence, Saunders
I'm assuming Finley is fit and Belshaw, Kilgour, Rodman, T.Clarke, Nolan, Loft and L.Clarke are still unavailable.

Doing this one solo for once, so a rare away day travelling with the SC on coach 1. Will be debuting my ruddy gert massive Union Gas flag, so hopefully there will be a place for it behind the goal. Which I expect us to break on no less than 4 occasions

I first did the solo gig back in Aug 2003 for Carlisle away as a wee 16 year old, made friends that morning/afternoon that I still have to this day. What it’s all about! Won 2-0 on that occasion, really should be putting Oldham to the sword tomorrow night and a massive bump back to earth for them. No doubt they’ll fancy themselves after scraping it against Scunny.

That’s 30 years ago this week Bags - 1-0 up at half time: Billy Ocean. Wow. I was linesman at Walsall that night and asked the trainer to keep me updated. He ran on to offer his services to the visitors trainer but wasn't needed. However he ran past me whilst I was on the main stand side and said,'Saunders has put you one up!!!!!!!!!!!'.

This but Thomas instead of Nicho. Rest him. Frosty thinks EA will start ahead of Finley, but that seems a little over-attacking to me

Just seen Joey's pre match chat. No scouts up north but has ex team mates at Newcastle as we thought and was the reason behind getting E Anderson. Interesting that he claims to know little about how T Widdrington ran things. Might have had 4 or 5 scouts that have gone with him but never met them so its only a rumour
