The best chance we've got of Barnet slipping up in the next 3 games is today Away to Aldershot I reckon , their next two are at home to lower sides. We need at least 7 points from these next 3 games. Come on Gas !!!

Since we beat Barnet they have won three from three, while we have dropped 4 points during an unbeaten run. We won't catch them unless it goes mental.

Surely we all play everyone twice? No good worrying about Barnet, we've already dropped too many points against teams they are beating anyway.

After these next three difficult games i would still take being 9 points behind Barnet, just hoping we don't fall further behind. Nine points is still a catchable buffer zone.

Why, they are hardly Chelsea of the Conference with home gates around 1,500 mark they can hardly have unlimited funds come the January transfer window, which be interesting as I assume there could be several Div 2 clubs looking to sign their better players. If they even have a 2 or 3 match hiccup we could be right on their tails if we keep our unbeaten run going.

Like I said we need 7 points minimum to keep within a nice distance of them though. I can see them getting 7 or 9 from this period so we need 7 or 9 too.

Because we are far to inconsistent against the so called weaker teams where as Barnet have been ruthless against these sides. Unless we really start scoring I just can't see it.

I can't see us catching them even though I am a blue tinter. We need to keep going and cement our play off place and hope to win the play offs. But if they do slip up we need to be in a position to catch them. I suppose I am stating the obvious

They may well slip up before the end of the season. The problem is we probably will too, and our inconsistency thus far will then come into play.

Injuries to 2 or 3 key players and they will drop like a stone.
Trouble is, so would we.
A lot is in the hands of the gods but it is far from over yet.

We've lost Trotman, LDV & Mildenhall and have dropped like a stone? As far as being inconsistent how can a team who've lost once in 10, or twice in something like 17 games, be inconsistent? We're not hitting the heights of Barnet but if we were we wouldn't keep that going until the end of the season anyway. A couple of exciting attacking options next month could make things interesting. Although Macclesfield are hardly out of the running anyway.

I really don't understand why people say things like "we'll never catch them , make up 9 points" etc etc . It's football .... They might not win another game ! If we match what we did first half and slightly improve on that I think we've a bloody good chance of winning this league.

Looking at our team today if Barnet do hold out for a 2-1 win today they could well open up a big gap at the top.
It's looking like we need a minimum of 7 pts to stay in touch
Although surely a league club must be interested in signing Akinde??

Martin Allen is renowned for an over cautious approach to the second half of the season. I believe they will drop points. Whether they will drop 9 points and we take advantage of that is yet to be seen.
