Forget the ball boys. Every team does what they can to hold a lead. Don’t let them score first or put away your chances, take it out of their hands. We are desperately missing a striker again, feel for Collins as it has all been on his shoulders. Should have scored at the death tho, who was it that didn’t get on the end of Elliott cross? Thought the defender cleared it for a corner, which then wasn't given by the ref?

Their comms had it spot on. Rovers shouldn't aim to change everything because of this one game. Get them in on Monday, get their heads up, move on to the next one.
We weren't going all the way to the end of the season without a loss, let it be against a team with nothing to play for rather than a rival for the top spots. We weren't nailed on for playoffs before today and we're not out of the race because of today.
Not taking chances is an issue but with 7 games left I wouldn't be surprised if someone finds a bit of finishing form before May.
Chill out and have a beer. UTG

With Mansfield v Northampton & Newport v Exeter next Saturday, a win for us against Bradford City is a must.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from their ball boys, I hope they get fined heavily, I used to have a soft spot for Carlisle not any more, hate them now after this I totally agree with you - although we should of been out of sight before those ball boys got up to their antics. Certainly lacking that cutting edge up front - shame really as we have everything else and look a very good side in possession.

Putting a positive spin on it, we targeted say 6 wins before this game, as long as we still get them all is ok

Didn't deserve to lose but a poor goal given away and not taking our chances has cost us. I don't think we played badly at all but never really tested their keeper enough. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but even before ko I was surprised we moved Anderson to left back, he's in the best form of his Rovers career in his natural position and we shift him with a left back on the bench. Still all to play for, we responded well after our last loss, time now to do it again, nothing has been decided today

Unfortunately having whelan sat in front of the defence makes us play more in our half which then makes our attackers come deeper to pick up the ball.has to stop playing him from the start if we want to be on the front foot is ok to close to the game

Isn't every home game left now a must win game? Particularly with two of away games being at PV & Tranmere?

The autos are hardly beyond our reach. They are with the fixtures we got left. Never mind i will be over the moon with seventh. [br It’s not , we’re 3 points behind with 21 left to play for. I’m not saying we’ll definitely do it but to say it’s over is quite frankly ridiculous. It’s like saying we’re definitely going to make top 7 that’s not assured either there’s a long way and a hell of a lot of football to be played yet. A 6th of the season still to play.

Gutted. Superb performance though. If anything I'm even more convinced we're going up - nuts to say after a defeat, but so impressed with us. Just not our day today. Credit to Carlisle, you can see they're in form - if the season started now I'd be convinced they'd be up in the mix themselves. "superb performance" what game where you watching? We never really looked like scoring all afternoon and its goals which win points. We struggled with the final ball, but equally they defended well - just not our day today. Aside from that we passed the ball really well and defended well for the most part - yes Belly made som good saves, but again you have to give some credit to Carlisle.

I saw it as an even game that could have been 3-3 and neither side could have complained. Worrying that we’ve only scored two goals in our last three games though.

What must Ryan loft be thinking that a 37yr old is preferred ahead of you ?
(not that he's set the place on fire, yet !!)

I think Port Vale will get the other automatic place. James Wilson is a quality player hitting form along with Garrity and they have players to come back inc Conlon. Play offs will be our best bet and there wont be anyone to fear in those

The home commentators rightly referred to Rovers being pleasing on the eye. Not often have we heard that expression in recent years!
However today we missed Evans massively, Whelen played ok but is far to similar to Coutts meaning we looked short on ideas to break Carlisle down. This was the game to have brought in a naturally left sided defender, perhaps Harries, at full back and kept an inform Anderton on the wing. Nicholson looked like someone returning from injury and offered little, he needed to come on midway through second half against a tiring defender. Clarke as a substiture looks so slow today I would have gone for Lofty.
Carlisle aren't the worse side we have played by a long shot but were there for the taking. We will need more from the front players in the remaining games as they were poor today perhaps with the exception of Anderson.
Hugely dissapointing but a win next week will put this right.
