Started to read this but gave up as I honestly could not understand it - anyone care to sum it up ? Long time lurker but this thread is really frustrating So I’ll have a go…. Some people think the club should remain frozen in time, it should be a old boys club where everyone who knows someone receives preferential treatment one way or another, they have access to all boardroom gossip so they can share it on the internet, the club should in no way attempt to modernise anything, the same employees should remain in the same roles as long as they like, the stadium should be cash only as we should forget that every other walk of life is marching towards cashless. I’m sure I missed a few things…. The rest of us are delighted that the club is trying to make the best of sh** facilities and modernising its approach with new ideas and concepts to drag the fc into the 21st century and trying to attract the fans of tomorrow whilst doing its best to keep the fans of today… That’s my take anyway! Cheers bud - Sounds about right !

Think of this thread as a tribute to fallen comrades, some of whom were unable or unwilling to keep up with modern life. Lament the fact that Bristol Rovers is now a business like any other, but do not dwell on it. Progress must happen and there will be very minor teething problems, some inconvenience and upset along the way. It is nothing a fourteen page thread of nonsense cannot put right.

All th English footy teams based on their stadiums alone , put that in yer pipe I can of course agree the Mem is a vast improvement on Ashton Gate, but slightly worried that Kenilworth Road is ranked above the Emirates Stadium.

It’s 2022 and you think kids want a tangible, physical program instead of just reading any content digitally? Cool story. It's great that we apparently sell out of programmes, but I had no idea they were so much in demand. I haven't bought one for about 15 years and thought they were old hat. I have saved every single one I ever bought, along with loads my grandad bought in the 50s, which are a great read. All in the attic somewhere now. Hope the mice haven't nibbled them. I recall everyone reading the programme at half time, checking the scores based on the board on the pitch side, and many years ago thumbing through the Football League Review which came with each programme, and with glorious glossy colour photos too. Now everyone just seems to stare at their phone at half time, and in fact during the game. Programmes seem to be a thing of the past. Or so I thought, but perhaps I'm wrong. It's been known. I believe that over 1000 programmes were printed for the FGR game. Thats around 1 in 10 of the crowd v FGR - pretty good ratio. Although the SC volunteers sell them on the day, I believe Curtis Sports still have healthy on line sales (overseas and long distance from the Mem) and then there are those for staff, hospitality, club guests etc. Hopefully the club will produce more for Scunthorpe as I sold my allocation at around 2pm and there were a lot of disappointed fans (Rovers/FGR and Gas Girls) who did not manage to get a copy. The next home programme could be more of a "souvenir" with it being Scunthorpe's last league game and possibly promotion, so again I would imagine high demand. If you don't want to miss out I would recommend getting to the Mem early and then enjoy the atmosphere in the fanzone. All monies spent on programmes, 50/50s and food and drink at the Mem all go to help the club, so with reference to the OP doesn't this help to show our (the fans) loyalty? Ps Jamie still sells old programmes so if you have a collection you no longer have space for, or want to buy some, why not pop in the SC matchday sales point and have a chat with him.

Walsall have announced a major Stadium sponsorship deal today. Is something similar possible for us or will that have to wait until......? Walsall Football Club's ground will become the Poundland Bescot Stadium, after a new partnership was agreed with the discount retailer.
The club had revealed its partnership with Banks's, which had held the first sponsorship of the ground since 2007, would finish at the end of this season.
West Midlands-based Poundland will also feature on the Saddlers' two-tier stand and be the shirt sponsor.
The club moved from Fellows Park to Bescot, an area of Walsall, in 1990.
The Saddlers said it would be "the largest commercial partnership" in its history as it announced the deal with Poundland, which has been partnered with the club since early 2020.
Its customer support centre is based in the area.

I hope to god that Poundland don't ever sponsor the Mem. We'd never hear the last of it from our needy friends in red.

Poundland, that's unfortunate.
Perhaps it's why DC left!
