City down in 19th in the championship and we’re top of league 2 for this. We averaged about 100 less than our so called much bigger 👀neighbours down the road who were 2 divisions above us. UTG

All down to how well the team does. Until we’re both in the same league playing the same teams it’s a pointless comparison. As it is they had a sh** season and still took more on their travels than us who got promoted.

That's probably down to restricted away capacity in L2, without that we could well have an higher away following, so much for City being a bigger club and in year to come we were supposedly "never hear anything about Rovers". The gap seems to be shrinking again!

UTG It would of been higher if the capacity for accommodating away support had been higher at some of the smaller grounds where demand exceeded supply. - FGR, Newport, Exeter et al. And we were as bad if not worse than the other mob for around half a season. Very impressive away attendances - great support!

The gap seems to be shrinking again! I mentioned that previously. City's big away days at Birmingham, West Brom, Coventry, Reading, Fulham, QPR, Swansea and Cardiff etc all have away sections with 2k plus allocations. They love to shout how 'big' their home attendances are compared to ours, but as a comparison our away support will always be superior to theirs.

The gap is as wide as its ever been, they averaged 19k having a sh** season, we averaged 7500 and got promoted, they have a premiership ready ground, we play in a ground that would look out of place now in the national league.

They have an OK ground but compared to ours it's a work of art! Do the STs there go towards rugby games aswell? That might swell the numbers but either way we are years behind.

Are we really years behind? Look at Luton, they went down to The Conference, like we did, however they spent 5 years down there, think they got promoted out of it the year we went down to it, so ultimately replaced us. Now look at them, they're in a Play Off Semi Final in with a chance of getting promoted to the Premier League. Kenilworth Rd although it has more seats than The Mem, it still has a smaller capacity and is just as ramshackle. We should be looking to emulate them. Not City, who are pretty much a failing business, just look at their accounts. Just because they've built 2 new stands to take the capacity to 28k or whatever it is, a turd is still a turd

I like to think Joey got rid of a lot of problems from the previous 3 years, in the last 6 months and has finally turned the tide. Might be best if you found something else to do, if your doomy and gloomy after the year we have had so far.

Luton have done great, credit to them. They are the surprise package for the season but I don't see how we come to a place where we should emulate any certain team? Every club has it own nuances and recent histories that we won't be aware of. We've got 3 tents for stands fgs! Even Yeovil got to a place that we would like to get to. citi, are miles ahead of us. Even if we were in the same league the difference in stature would be astonishing. Their accounts are similar to lots of clubs in that league who gambled then got burnt by covid. I'd like to concentrate on us and stop with the comparisons as it just makes rovers look daft. We need a decent stadium to start off with.

Our away attendances are great but isn't that to be expected? Large town, fairly good access to the rest of the country. The % to home crowd stands put and does actually give us a feather over the teds but we have had a good season.

TBF 19k is amazing considering the season they’ve had. 👏 My friend is a Ted and he has said the large number of season tickets have helped, actual bums on seats at some games he reckons was as low as 10-12,000. Also mentioned large numbers given to local schools to generate future fans which they can do with a third of the ground never utilised under normal circumstances. He said with the exception of the cup matches with the 2 Manchester clubs they have never had a sell out, surprising given at time they were in contention for the play offs in recent years.
