The bloke wins us a magical last day promotion and still the knives seem to be out , just pack it in for phuck sake , this is a football forum not a bloody courtroom drama , Can’t we just enjoy this small period of success without all the negativity, it’s really not healthy This is a football forum and our football manager has a day in court this month where he will be giving the opportunity to defend himself against an allegation that he assaulted his wife. If the magistrate finds him guilty then our promotion-winning (and, for balance, relegation-suffering) manager will most likely be sacked. The original poster was simply wondering what impact that might have on our ability to finalise transfers/contracts etc while that is unresolved. I think that is a pretty fair question and worthy of debate on this forum. But I suppose some Barton super-fans just get agitated when anyone dares to even mention anything that could be perceived as a negative relating to him? Good post up until the unnecessary ‘Barton super fans’ comment. Far from it , read my previous posts.

No negativity, happy as anyone with this season (2nd half). Unbelievable. Certainly no "knives out" Not judging either. Wondering what impact this UNKNOWN OUTCOME could be having (or could have) Just seems odd to bring all this tripe up again when things are going so well , suppose people just can’t be happy , have to have something to moan and worry about

You do realise the court case is in a couple of weeks? Not dragging up old history. Not moaning, very happy. Do you need more explanation? Some people like to bury their heads in the sand i suppose.

Why are you getting chopsy towards me ? Wind your neck in a bit please. Why worry about a court case that you simply have no control over and if the worst happens and he’s guilty , he’ll rightfully be dismissed from his duties and punished by the courts. Then he’ll be replaced and start again , seriously, life’s too short.

I wonder if the odd few will then be happy, I'm sure they will be I really do.

I’m fairly certain the few bringing this up regularly may just be frustrated that we have signed anyone yet or has any contract news so this topic is a good distraction, I don’t see what it’s got to be brought up after all our success

Its a fair question to ask, but the posters personal opinion of JB is not relevant to the question, Therefore using his own created thread to state that opinion is Joey bashing. True, but I think it’s a perfectly reasonable position for the OP to take. There are many Rovers fans that feel the same on a moral level but can see that he’s done a very good job last season. I don’t think there’s any need for divide between fans over this, albeit that Barton himself will always be a divisive character because of his history. If he is cleared at the end of the month then hopefully it goes a long way to the issue getting put to bed. If you are saying the OP is entitled to his opinion of JB I agree 100%. I just said it is not relevant to the question, which was when is Joes court case. What I am actually saying is I don’t think the OP stating his personal opinion was necessary.

Me too mate , life’s way too short to talk about the negatives , especially when you have no control of the situation , I suppose I must be a ‘super fan’ then 😉

I get people want signings and are a bit impatient but this season is so much different to the last where we needed to build a complete new squad and had to get to work early and get players in. Now we don't and everyone has time to relax before we go again and I would imagine we won't hear much until later in the month. Regarding the OP i dont think for one moment players are waiting for the court case it didn't seem to stop players from signing last season when the Stendl case was still hanging over JB. No impatience or panic from me, but looking at the squad as it stands at the moment, it could be argued we are in need of 10/11 players and maybe even a couple more if we can move one or two out. Yes, of course we do and in a higher, more difficult league. We need the players we recruit to be a better standard than those we signed last year being in a higher league and we need a number of them. No panic but certainly no complacency either, I hope there is a plan and determination to do what we need to do. I’m sure JB is on the case. UTG!

A guilty verdict and community service order would be a bit awkward for wael.

Any magistrate would find it very difficult to find JB guilty once his wife is given the opportunity to testify in court. It's quite obvious to me that is going to happen because at the previous hearing in spite of the prosecution wanting the case to continue, the magistrate on that day agreed an adjournment to 23rd June. Bodycam footage and no witness statements and his wife not requiring hospital treatment will make it very difficult to persuade a magistrate to find him guilty once his wife gives her support to her husband. Drink has played a big part in this and you need to remember that the magistrate is there to judge on this case alone and not on any previous convictions/ non convictions that JB has.

Yes , I’m a 39 year old ‘super fan’ , I suppose I also wear a full kit on a match day with JB’s initials on as well
