Would not surprise me. After all Pearson has signed two free agents already. It would appear although they are willing to sell Semenyo, Scott etc for big bucks, Mr Lansdown is looking for money into the coffers and not pay any out. Having said that, no doubt there will be better offers on the table from other Championship clubs and he is a free agent so I would thank him for his time at the Gas and personally will not lose any sleep if he goes to the dark side.

He may if the money is right unfortunately, let's hope it's just another load of off season bolox. All footballers are a bad tackle away from not playing again, who's to say what is right for them ?

You have to remember with Evans it will be more about the signing on fee. Hes a free agent so a club could offer him more money plus a chunk of change that they dont have to pay in a transfer fee and still get a cracking deal.
Box seat for Evans really.

Don't disagree, but it wont be City if it's not us. Hopefully he wants to start the next season where he left off the last. Another stand out season (or half) in league 1 and he'll be able to command more cash and get a starting place at a champ club rather than warming the bench. Reckon it's 50:50 because he knows he can perform with these players as the lynch pin of the side but as people say, careers are short so may well cash in now and back himself to make an impact at a bigger club.

Would be sorry to see him go but have every confidence JB would / will replace with equally strong if not stronger. I had never heard of him before he joined last season and probably will be the same about some of the players we get in this season.
Dont think any of the loanees will return - maybe Connolly if Cardiff can't offer a First team squad place.
Nicholson also I think will leave for pastures new.
None of them will experience the same passion from their 'new fans' that they experienced with the Gas - Money talks for sure, but hoping the professional pride of playing each week is stronger than collecting something for being a bit part in a sterile environment.

My understanding is that every time a player signs a contract they receive a signing on fee. On that basis Evans would receive a signing on fee from us if he were to agree a new contact with us. I believe it's the same for an existing player signing a contract extension.

Add another factor - most of the management and a lot of the players are Scousers. Must make him feel at home. Plus a manager who gets the best out of him, which others apparently couldn't.

There's more chance of City trying to get Elliot Anderson on loan

On that fantatic saturday a few weeks ago i was sitting near his family (20 of them) and indeed i chatted with his grandad at some length. It is a very close knit group and and his grandad in particular is important to him. The 2 embraced for ages at the final whistle. The grandad has travelled to virtually all of his games - no mean feat as he lives in Merseyside. I asked them whether he would sign a new contract and they were non comittal until after the final whistle when they said - " more chance now". I think locality is probably more of a factor for him that most players seem to. They did say that he loves playing for Rovers

He ,unlike Snakey, will not sell his soul to a team which last season played drab football which failed to excite. I’d like to think you’re right but in the end the deal/money will be what determines who he signs for. If we can match the best or near the best of his offers he may well decide on us. But... Either way I’d thank him for what he’s done and wish him good luck in the future. It’s a short career and I understand the need to make the most if it at these moments. And I’m sure JB will have several names that he will be looking at as direct replacements. UTG!
