I've decided to embrace change, and go for the e-ticket option, I've found the wallet on my phone (with a bit of help from oldie ), going electronic with the rail tickets too.

Equally, I was emailed saying renewal supporters would still use last seasons card as their ST for 2022/23 & two days later I’m emailed an E ticket. No sweat like, will turn up with both as an insurance policy. No ticket holder, season ticket or matchday are getting refused entry. That much is a certainty. You're lucky that you aren't affected by stress and anxiety - some people are. True, I am one composed & chilled laid back dude. But I do save the testing stress moments for things that matter, wether or not I’ll gain access to our beloved Estadio De Mem with a valid Season Ticket, certainly doesn’t qualify. In my eyes of course.

Tried to get clarity today by visiting the club shop. I arrived at 15:30 and opened the door, only to be told the shop was closed, despite the fact I saw someone in the shop purchasing club merchandise (and leaving with it around 2 minutes after I left!). However, I said to the young lady who told me it was closed, that the opening hours were until 16:00 and I only wanted information about my season ticket and the e-ticket. She said that I would only need the e-ticket for the Forest Green game. I asked for some sort of confirmation, at which point one of the male staff (David, Pete?) came over told me that the information about the shop being closed was on the club website (It wasn't!!) and aggressively took over, saying that I won’t need the e-ticket and to just ignore the e-ticket e-mail and use my season card, ushering me out of the door and slamming it as I went through! Totally unnecessary!! Have finally given up and e-mailed TG. I have friends who are equally confused and have said they're just going to come with their season pass and not move at the turnstiles unless they get let in!! I can see all sorts of chaos on the 30th and queues out to Filton Avenue and beyond!!

Only chaos on 30 Aug will be Barton selecting 8 new debutants many of whom had no pre season action.

Is this a scam I might be old and dense but
what is an e-ticket and
only wallet I own is a black leather one to keep me wads of cash in.
What if i have no iPhone, contact less bank card and no printer?
Will my last season plastic card self combust in a temperature exceeding 34c ?
Really is this a Ticket Diaster or ticket master cock up.
Has life suddenly become more complicated to watch a football match ?

Is this a Ticket Diaster of ticket master origin. Has life suddenly become more complicated to watch a football match ? If you read David Bright's profile, when he joined us he was keen to expand the e-ticketing system, so I would say that it's a club led initiative. They probably made it more complicated to implement by stipulating that existing ST holders could still have cards, but new ST holders would be e-tickets only. Not necessarily a Ticket Master cock-up. At least the club has listened, and supporters now have a choice.

It doesn't address existing season ticket holders, who have cards, but who have had to change location. Presumably we're classed as new season ticket holders. Just saying... You should be fine G99 I’m in the same category as yourself and have just filled in the e mail and it gives you the option to chose you’d like to receive it as a card/cards 👍 Let's hope I get an email - nothing turned up yet.

A match ticket contained within an email, that can be simply be opened & barcode scanned at the turnstile. Adding it to your ‘wallet’ app is purely an option if you wanted to keep things organised.

With regards to cards, read the club statement on the website, should clarify. Better than the confusion on here.

Maybe the club statement includes details of this, if not, I would suggest e-mailing Pete Weymouth at the ticket office.

In Mr Gorringes statement, I think I must have missed the words:
"we are sorry for the aggravation and confusion we have caused with our conflicting previous emails, this is our way forward...."
it's not a difficult concept to apologise, and then offer a way forward. Becoming disenamoured with the club comms to be truthful.

Better than that, if you download the QR (pass as defined in Google Pay wallet)) in the secure environment of your home router, it's done and ready to use. That may not be the same if you try to download the QR Code in a mobile environment at the ground.

Always good to be organised, have that bad boy ready to go in the ol’ apple wallet 🙌🏻 Something new but people will get used to it. It’s the only method of entry at West Ham (took in 8 games last season) and everyone there manages perfectly. They’ve got more over 60’s than a Cliff Richard gig!

I have to say this all sounds like a terrible and overcomplicated cockup.
I was and am all in favour of contactless payments because they are easy to use and very easy to learn for the uninitiated.
This is a while new level of technology for those who aren't tech savvy and I can see it will be too much for many. Probably quite a lot of people. This is way beyond waving a bit of plastic at a card reader.

Why not, unless you use a dodgy WiFi connection at the ground then an EE etc mobile connection is just as secure as your home WiFi, possibly more secure. Athough I doubt many hackers are really interested in Mem tickets, unless the world has really gone mad.

But did you attend the first few matches when fans had to find their "wallets" for the first time? It's bad enough standing behind, older fans, trying to find the cards, watching them searching for their "wallets" then the right match e-ticket on their mobile phones will be an all new game. Google's now adding to the chaos by renaming Google Pay to Google Wallet!
