But the contents wrong. Nikita Parish the final substitute is not white so her content is clearly wrong. It was regarding the Quarter Final, not the final. Some people have a bee in their bonnet about women's football getting prime coverage. Compare that to the utter dross the men's team play that performance last night was the best England performance any England team has put out since 1966 If that team played the Rovers team that played on Saturday they would slaughter us

Let’s not forget the mens team have put in some very exciting performances in recent years and have made it to a final too. Fair play they went the extra mile and won it but it was far away from being the best performance since 1966, infact the standard is pretty poor IMO. Whilst I’m over the moon for the girls I don’t get why every one needs to jump on the bandwagon trying to slaughter the mens team just because they’ve won something. Let the girls enjoy the moment and lap up the glory and hopefully we’re all celebrating again as a nation come Xmas for the boys.

Sorry to poop the party, but amidst all the hype and euphoria, for me the WSL is going the same way as the PL - 3 or 4 big clubs and the rest are also rans. Big money for the few and scraps for the rest. But congratulations to the Lionesses - a magnificent achievement.

He has increased team togetherness, but is far too defensive and tactically inept. We should have beaten Italy. We had a better squad, but Southgate bottled it.
Onwards and upwards for Lionesses and Gas.

It's a different game. We would beat them comfortable, even with the current squad.

Great to see so many girls are now interested - for their generation it will be the norm to play football.

Quite astonishing Weigman is unbeaten in two Euro tournaments & still yet to lose as England manager. In 25 odd games? Back to back Euro winner, no wonder the FA are keen to extend her deal.
Shes been relentless from the off, both games against (part time) Latvia in the qualifiers a prime example. 10-0 win in Riga, then sticking 20 into them without reply in the home fixture. The Latvian gaffer bought their reserves over that night, mainly a mix of 18-20 year old academy players, so a tad disgraceful on his part. Regardless she did not allow our girls to let up!
Taking that into the group stage against Norway & the Irish certainly set the tone for what came after. For once we were the most feared side in the whole tournament, great to see.
Roll on the inaugural ‘Finalissima’ against the mighty Brazil & World Cup next summer.

How do we watch women's football in Bristol? Both us, City an other local clubs have womens teams, shouldn’t be difficult to find out where an when they play.

How do we watch women's football in Bristol? The Community Trust run the Gas Girls who have just been promoted to what is the equivalent to the National League (Tier 5) in Men’s football… Great set up, decent standard and really enjoyable watch…. Home pitch is Lockleaze Sports Centre…. You should get along and watch some time….

How do we watch women's football in Bristol? Not quite Bristol, but The Fry Club in Keynsham has female teams of all ages. Based on the old Cadbury site.

But, the point being, I was being sarcastic. Where are any of these games advertised? If you are not in the "know"

I suppose I'd Google if I wanted to know where to see a game, no idea if the Bristol Post covers local women's football?

You say that the England women would beat the gas but that is very unlikely. But it is as good that girls and women's football is now recognised and they can make a profession out of it .

Without the Oxygen of media coverage local football will never grow. Women's sport is way behind the 8 Ball on this. It has to change, the kids need and deserve it.

The comparison with male football is a red herring and totally irrelevant. Young females who want to play need the funded structure that allows them to do that. If done, everyone wins. Last night was a highlight, so much more to do.
