Great result, hopefully the boys will take note. Well done Lionesses. Boys only lost on penalties mind. Girls did well, but not sure why everyone on social media, has to bring the men into it.

Fully deserved after an amazing tournament for the Lionesses. That through ball from Walsh & Ella Toone finish for the openerπ Great scenes when the winner was stabbed home, right on cue with pens looming!
Sarina Weigman unbeaten in x2 euro tournaments and as England manager. Amazing stuff.
Young girls and boys all over the country inspired and great role models for our own Gas Girls.

seems great day had by all, well done England for finding a way to win despite not being at your best, great to see fans being able to enjoy a major football event in this country the way it should be enjoyed. superb opening goal as was the equaliser which reminded me of Richard Walkers first goal at Wembley in its execution, Sure lots of youngsters will be inspired by the group, may well see a surge in interest and support for Gas Girls.

This 72 year old is not afraid to admit that these young ladies can certainly play our great game with great skill and outstanding physicality. Well done to the Lionesses!

During the first incarnation of the Gas Girls, the SC helped fundraise to support the team with the likes of Marcia, Hendygirl, Helen Done, Louise Hutton, Trudi Williams and Steph Curtis et al.
Although they were cash strapped, the Gas Girls reached at least 3 WFA cup semi finals and were usually well away from any relegation issues in the women's top flight but just couldn't break into the top 4 or 5 teams, mainly due to finances.
As the men's team suffered financially pre sharescheme, the FC had to look to save any money where possible and the Gas Girls suffered and funding from Rovers ceased and they then connected with Filton College.
The current crop of Gas Girls do a lot of unnoticed work with the community and seem to be too lowly placed within the pyramid as for the last few years have won a large percentage of their games.
Who knows, in 5-10 years time maybe we might see the Gas Girls regularly playing at the Mem in the WSL?
Girls football is on the up. There is definitely a market, so maybe this is something Tom and Dave Bright should be looking at?
Maybe they could have a match this season, with the club serving Sunday roasts in hospitality and the bars open to watch a premier league in the bars after the Gas Girls game, with a 50/50 at half time.
I'm sure the girls would love to play a competitive league game at the Mem, rather than a friendly and it would mean more use of the stadium on a non match day (men's) and bring the girls to a bigger audience and helping raised more funds for them.
Seems like a win-win to me.

If only Southgate and the mens team played with the same attacking freedom the lionesses did today.
Give Wiegman the mens job.

Loved it today. What a team. Shame Ian Wright wanted to make it all about him! Nothing new!
