No mention on that YouTube interview about the departing players.

So how many do we need now? It’s one thing to say find new clubs, but to not allow players to train seems a bit extreme - especially people like Rodman who’s always mentioned as a model pro?
Would be nicer getting some more players in tbh than having even more leave

Would be nicer getting some more players in tbh than having even more leave Astonishing. HAS to have been a fallen out as, IMO, that is totally unnecessary and can only do bad. A lot of these players will be liked by their teammates, so banishing them from training will upset the players that are staying. I really am taken aback by all this. Clarke is odd and none of them even allowed to train with the team...... what the actual fk...

He is parting company amicably, as you would expect.

Would have been a good response had we just had our first pre season game. We’re about to play the second game of the season, haven’t signed anyone in over a month, and the manager has just thrown his toys out crying about a player not being good enough who’s contract he extended himself only 2/3 months ago?! Not good enoughSeems to me 4 posters are chucking their toys out the pram having been desperate to do so for a while but have been grossly disappointed that a promotion under extreme circumstances having been achieved. Come back in September when the window has closed and complain then. Plenty of business still to be done. Things looked gloomy last September. Come May it looked rosy. Absolutely no one is disappointed that we got promoted. The thing with some people on here is that they can’t have a discussion so just revert to bringing up unnecessary and irrelevant points and steer well off track because there’s no actual explanation to back up the points they’re trying to make. By the time we’re 13% of the way through the season hopefully we’ll have signed the 8 or so players we need. Nothing like being prepared

Would be nicer getting some more players in tbh than having even more leave would you prefer the opposite, let them continue training with the others and allow them to find another club at their own leisure even if it takes 'til January to find one? Not sure what's "model pro" about Rodman's shocking injury record since he signed for Rovers, it'll be a brave club who now offers him a contract, other than pay as you play type one.

Kept sh** players on or players who are disruptive to the dressing room? Just to be able to say we’re prepared? Or would you rather wait a few games in and sign players who will make a difference and allow us to compete? I know what I’d prefer. Our manager got us promoted last season. Certain posters have been very quiet for a while now. But now decide to pop up. I don’t think pointing that out is irrelevant. It’s demonstrating that our manager deserves a degree of trust based on his achievements last season. And that the season isn’t decided in the first few games.

Unless they have an attitude problem, yes. You can’t stop someone training and then expect a club to take them on - their fitness will be shot and they have even less chance of going off the wage bill. I struggle to see how this decision makes people go quicker? If you think Rodman having an injury makes him not a model pro, then that says more about you Topper than Rodman or anyone else

How on earth does having injuries prevent somebody from being described as a "model pro". One was a long bout of Vertigo - not football related, and a team mate broke his foot with a dubious tackle in training. I get that you don't like the bloke, but don't paint him as something which he isn't - he's never shirked in the quarters.

Not sure I understand the business sense in not letting him train though? That’s the part that confuses me. He would be allowed to train, however, as those three are not in the first team plans, they wouldn't train with the first team squad. He meant "business sense" with regard to the fact that he has been unable to play the amount of games which both himself and the club would have liked.

Certain posters have been very quiet for a while now. But now decide to pop up. I don’t think pointing that out is irrelevant. It’s demonstrating that our manager deserves a degree of trust based on his achievements last season. And that the season isn’t decided in the first few games. The issue is clearly that the manager gave a player a new 2 year contract and then throws him under the bus in the first game of the season and decides he no longer wants him. Westbrooke wasn’t with us last year yet he’s brought back into the fold and again after 1 game told to leave. These decisions could have been made over the summer. If he had done that he would have also had more room in his budget and a longer period of time to use it. If we kept sh** players on or players who were a nuisance then clearly we wouldn’t have entered the season prepared. But the manager has been around this group for long enough now to know who he wants to keep or who may be disruptive to the morale of the team. The season isn’t decided in the first few games but the season as a whole and that includes the first few. If we were to miss out on let’s say the title by a few points it would be because we were very incompetent leading up to game week 1. I should be able to call the manager out for the way he handles things without people ramming the fact that I don’t like him back as a sole response. I gave him his dues at the end of the season, this is a new one and it’s my opinion that we have started the season with a weaker squad than we finished with in a weaker league. I have yet to see a validated reason for offering a player a contract to then chuck said player under the bus and announce you didn’t want him or whatever just 2 months later.
