Random Joey is back. Do not understand this guy at all. (Mainly re Clarke) Totally bizarre re: Clarke. Don't think it is to do with his ability and recently signed 2 year contract. Just weird!

Something must have happened. We are defensively so threadbare now. Lucky Burton.

Gives Clarke a new contract, then bizarrely throws him under the bus and now has to get rid just so he doesn’t look stupid.

The three no longer training with the squad, told to find new clubs. Barton admits he made a mistake with Clarke, not letting him go in the Summer. Egan and Heal to go out on loan.

Very odd decision about Clarke, the other two fair enough, however it may not be easy to shift them unless we settle up their contracts.

"I made a mistake bringing Trevor Clarke back, I shouldn't have brought him back, I should have really known that from last year but I gave him a chance and he hasn't managed to take it." JB really is ruthless. Given our lack of numbers in defence, no other recognized LB, Anderton's diagnosis, Grant's injuries, I think letting Clarke go is a poor choice.

Thought Clarke was decent Saturday. Very odd. Pretty convinced something has happened behind the scenes there. Pretty much agree with the decision about the other two.

Heres the way I see it. We knew Anderton was poorly, probably in the middle of the summer and we needed something in as cover there becuase we also knew Josh Grant wouldnt be ready for pre season from last seasons injury so Clarke was the cover.
But after a full pre-season and a game, its strikingly obvious that Clarke isnt up to it (it was obvious saturday) so now is the opportunity to do something with him.
It does say a lot when a right footed right winger goes to LWB and does considerably better than a left footed, left back by trade has done for 60+ previous minutes.

Disappointing to hear Trevor Clarke times up at the gas as I thought he was outstanding in the friendly against Stoke & had a decent game against FGR, especially as we’re down to the bare bones when it comes to our defence, like someone mentioned something must have happened behind the scenes.

Any chance to have a dig though at Joey, fair play. Don't we know the full story, JB gives a player a 2 year contract extension even though he didn't seem to warrant one, then after just one match tells him to find another club, it's one of the strangest decisions ever made by a Rovers manager. I'm not even sure who'll now play at LB on Saturday.

Might bring my boots along Saturday just in case they ask a member of the crowd to fill in.

Gotta be more to it than meets the eye with Clarke. Odd as it may seem.
The other two need to go anyway.
Glad Kilgour not on the chop list.

Should have allowed Kilgour to go too. Doesn't fit in with the style of football and also injury prone.
