Knowing the EFL they’ll probably call the games off at 2:55pm tomorrow.

Honestly think it’s pretty silly to cancel this weekends games. Nightclubs, pubs etc will be open. Plenty of people drunk in the city centre come midnight. Yet god forbid a football gets knocked about. 🤷♀️ Totally agree. Why should sport get postponed when nothing else really is ? Millions of people have made arrangements, paid for coach tickets trains etc and many who have match tickets won’t be able to make the rearranged fixtures because they’ll be midweek. The queen seemed like a nice person but putting all of these hard working people out of pocket and messing up their plans because she’s died would just be typical of the way this country is run. She had a good innings and others have said she liked sport. She also never had to worry about her heating bill or where her next meal was coming from because us the tax payer paid for it. Let the matches go ahead I say and if anyone is so upset that they can’t bring themselves to go and watch their side play then that’s their choice.

Games already off in Northern Ireland this weekend 😡 And so is todays cricket, golf and tour of Britain cycling. Need a statement either way ASAP. I’m sure many people across the country will be travelling this afternoon for games. I’m personally happy with games being called off out of respect. What I’m not happy with is that it’s a process of guessing how the public feels about it. Either call it off out of respect or don’t. There really should be a process

A decision on weekend Premier League and EFL fixtures will be made after a review of the official mourning guidance, plus consultation with other sports and the Department for Culture Media and Sport.
How long to get the "gang" together for that meeting?

Fingers crossed things go ahead and individuals can make their own decisions.

Personally I think, black armbands,a minutes silence and like at west ham a rousing chorus of god save the queen for the last time.

Personally I think, black armbands,a minutes silence and like at west ham a rousing chorus of god save the queen for the last time. That’s a much better way of sport showing its respect than just shutting down. A properly observed minute silent is very powerful especially if it was followed by the national anthem. Baffling why cancellation is even being considered in the first place when all other daily activities will be carrying on as normal - weird how sport is expected to act differently than everything else. A quick decision is required either way.

Sounds positive, I think they’ll let games happen after seeing the backlash on social media. Lots of people stating it would be better as a mark of respect to let the games play.

Will the EFL be refunding train tickets if the train companies don't offer refunds?
