Could have been worse Bolton v Pompey probably the final tie the sponsors wanted. Great to be home Argyle won't relish the trip to Mem.

Now we are in the knock outs and within sight of a wembley appearance and the money that goes with it, it will only be good for the team and club. Players on the fringes (Hoole, Marquis and McCormick from the last game for example) know they have a chance to stake a claim. Think Belly will come back in for the next game though

£40k to reach this stage and and £100k for both finalists apparently Plus gate receipts, whoever wins our tie will want to avoid the winner of the Bolton v Pompey tie if they want a decent attendance in the final.

Former Sunderland director Charlie Methven, made famous by the Netflix documentary Sunderland ‘Til I Die, estimated that a run to Wembley in 2018-19, netted the Black Cats close to £1m in prize money, ticket sales, merchandise and TV money.
