The FA met today to discus putting Youth sides into the Carabao cup and scrapping FA cup replays, all to favour bigger clubs. Again the lower league teams will be bribed with more trickle down money which we never actually see. So basically the big few will carry on exploiting/dictating the game, and all the smaller clubs like ourselves must say thank you for some crumbs from the Captains Table. No wonder so many boycott the Papa Johns Trophy, that’s where it started, but where will it end?

Not even a trip to Wembley ( if we get there ) would tempt me. Gutted that I won’t be there for the club and our players , but this competition is a complete farce , ruined by premier league greed. Also find it highly disrespectful for our lower league seasoned pros playing against teenage primadonna stars of the future , where they put in reckless challenges and derail our players season. Ah well , rant over.

I’m not sure what to think about that, I point blank refuse to watch us against a U23 side and haven’t gone to a game since they changed the format. I’m tempted to go to the Plymouth game and beyond if we make it but can see an EFL spin along the lines of ‘the improved attendances prove that the competition is a success’ etc.

I know , but as I alluded to earlier , the competition in its current format is disgraceful and disrespectful to seasoned pros and I shall not waste a second of my time by spectating

Really strange thing to say? The players, Joey, TG and Wael want Wembley. Why can't people support the club, instead of a made up idea, that won't happen? Also all you list there, none have been at the club for more than 7 years. Will any of them be here in 7 years. Maybe wael. I as a supporter will still be here in 7 years (health permitting)supporting. Fans don’t want it. Looks like caraboa cup the next boycott. What point will you boycott and support our club?

It’s still amazing how many times people who are boycotting the comp have to remind everyone they’re boycotting.

Have you just jotted down some thoughts and posted it in error, or is that supposed to make any sense to the rest of us? It’s quite clear. Joey, wael, players, T.g all want it. These people are custodians of our football club and who knows how long they will be at Bristol Rovers? We the supporters are the football club and will have to put up with the future of whatever radical plans the fa have with our game. I’ve not missed a home league game for over 9 years. Missed weddings, parties and delayed breaks to watch the gas. I will not attend this sham at any round, but remember this…… we’re doing this for the future of our game, and our football club. Clear now?

How about we do a mass walk out in the 94th minute to show our disgust at the competition?

Clear now?A big crowd at Wembley totally nullifies any protest you make, if we, or Plymouth, reach the final and then play one of the bigger supported clubs it will probably be another 50,000+ gate.

Again the lower league teams will be bribed with more trickle down money which we never actually see. Think you’re slightly misrepresenting here…. My understanding is that there is a meeting tomorrow to discuss a number of different things such as scrapping FA Cup replays etc but re the Carabao cup it’s to consider letting teams who are playing in Europe play their U21 or U23 teams in place of their first team …. It’s not a cart Blanche proposal to introduce premier league youth sides to the competition…. I have no issues with people who want to boycott just like I don’t think people attending should feel that they’re doing the wrong thing ….. I also think that there is little to nil chance of youth teams being introduced to the Football League - but that is just my personal view

I missed the article about tomorrow's meeting which only seems to be mentioned in this article in The Times? archive.ph/ofISzYou do have to wonder where this all ends, under 21/23 teams taking part in the FA Cup next, then it won't be long before it's suggested they need to play in the league so they are competitive in the cups?? If teams in Euro competitions can't field senior sides then why don't they just miss out on the League Cup entirely?
