"us clubs" when did Wael ever say he was against the Pizza Trophy? I believe that we were one of the clubs who voted against the inclusion of the prem team youngsters. We were. In my opinion, boycotts only work if they influence the actual decision makers. In this situation it's the clubs themselves who voted it in, so boycotting Rovers games only affects us and we've already said no. Boycotts should be targeted at those clubs who voted for their inclusion.

Maybe we should boycott taking their players on loan too? No?

Maybe we should boycott taking their players on loan too? No? Well if B teams get introduced then there may well be fewer players available to get on loan. So I suppose that would be a consequence.

I get the logic, but since the intro of U23s into the JPT I would say prem loans to the EFL have gone up. The prem teams are hoarding all the players yet still moan about 3 games in 8 days! I'm not against the boycott, but it feels like ants standing in front of a steamroller.

The Premier League big boys will almost certainly always get their way... eventually.. Personally; I will still boycott out of principle. But each to their own

Its been plain to see by attendances across the country that lower league club fans do not like the under21 teams being in the competition. The FA and EFL have just ignored this and expanded the involvement of u21 teams. So the boycotts seem to have failed (?) In hindsight i think the point would have been made better if clubs had usual size crowds in every game except the u21 games. The difference would make the point better. As it is its like the old reserve leagues the authorities didnt care if people turned up to watch. Nah I don't think so. They already cherry pick the higher attendances of bigger teams in later rounds (and, obviously, Wembley) to argue that the new format is successful. They would gloss over the drop in attendances for U21 opponents as it doesn't suit them. I am sure the money they get from the Premier League clubs is worth more to them than fan backing - so even the existing boycott is probably just a minor nuisance for them. They will hope that if they persevere that people will accept U21 teams playing against their club and once it is normalised they can do what they want without too much drama. Nobody has been going for years and they have not batted an eyelid. The prem money is just making up for lost attendance money...which was low anyway. U21 is here to stay im afraid . If clubs fans boycott the FA cup games against the prem first teams..someone will take notice. They wont though...think Charlton are taking 7000 plus to old trafford. Which says to the FA everything is hunky dory.

Maybe we should boycott taking their players on loan too? No? No, because they will be playing first team football against other first teams. It's playing first team football against youth teams that is my problem, as we are now.

You say the boycott has failed, I would say the FA have stuck two fingers up to hundreds of thousands of football supporters, as if to gesture they couldn’t give a damn what we (the people that make the game what it is) think. As expected of course. That's it in a nutshell, nothing will stop the Premiership juggernaut as they have all the cash. I do think boycotting the U21 games only would have had more impact, as, even if the FA had cherry picked which attendances to highlight, it would have been easy to counter this by figures showing that fans were there when 2 league clubs played each other, but a drastic reduction when the U23's were playing - sends a clear message. The only way to make a real protest was for no fans to turn up for the final but the exact opposite has happened, any protests now are pointless.

"us clubs" when did Wael ever say he was against the Pizza Trophy? I’ve never seen Wael eat a pizza . He’d be all for it if it was named the Lasagne Cup.

No interest in this competition whilst youth teams are admitted, also highly unlikely I'd ever be in a situation where I would be able to prioritise attending one of these matches over anything else my time could be better spent on.
Finalists should field their own youth teams! UTG

Sorry but will there will always be people who will want to watch Rovers play regardless. A match against Plymouth will always draw a crowd and with the meaning to this match so significant I think there will be plenty there Tuesday. And ….if we make Wembley im sure we will sell out of our allocation

How did Plymouth become such a good side, as they were in League 2 three seasons ago? A bigger club than Rovers now!

Better ground, crowds in excess of 15k and been in the Championship only a few yrs ago. We haven’t had those sort of crowds for 50yrs ffs!!

Maybe a Wembley win will help bring in some much needed revenue to help make some ground improvements.

The price of Wembley tickets I am sure will deter many!

The price of Wembley tickets I am sure will deter many! But if could be a once in a decade type opportunity. If we get into the Championship the chances of reaching Wembley will be miniscule.

How did Plymouth become such a good side, as they were in League 2 three seasons ago? A bigger club than Rovers now! Plymouth are a bigger club than Rovers historically. Average crowds across history our 9,000 plus to their 12,000 plus. Higher biggest crowd our 35,000 plus to their 42,000 plus. Their 40 seasons in tier 2 to our 19. FA and league cup semi finalists to our quarter final bests. Plymouth so far are bigger than Rovers ,that can change in the future though...

I’ve always thought we’ve been pretty similar sized clubs, at least in my lifetime anyway. For some reason I don’t have much animosity towards them like other west country clubs either.
