Not easy if you're elderly or not very mobile. Making it one hour seems quite a simple and sensible solution. Although to be fair what exactly you'd be doing in the club shop for a whole hour mystifies me. The half an hour isn’t just the time in the club shop, the parking eye cameras clock you as you enter the car park & as you leave so by time you park and access the store & drive out after, half an hour if your elderly or not so physically able isn’t a long time.

I agree, I think we need to empathise with those who are older or less mobile, I think the compromise would be make it an 60/90 minutes maximum stay. 30 minutes as others have said is too little time to park, enter details, browse, try merchandise on, maybe chat with fellow supporters, get back to car, leave. Especially if we want them to buy a few items, tickets etc, it must remain a good experience for the customer/supporter.

I’m now getting confused as if you enter your details into the system which is at the entrance to the shop and has been advertised and is highlighted on the signs then you get to park for longer than 30mins? I think you can stay for as long as you like? The 30 mins (or however long it is) is purely how long you can stay without entering your details and without then getting a parking charge? I really don’t see the issue with typing your registration number into a system? It’s really not a difficult or complex process and has been advertised and communicated significantly?

Agreed, it would be good if someone could confirm - do you get 30 minutes grace (without entering details) or do you get 30 if entering your details? Big difference 👍🏾

Big difference 👍🏾 www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2022/october/car-park-charges/30 mins according to the club? Although not sure how the OP missed the sign showing the car park charges, although there's no sign saying anybody using the shop gets 30 mins free, for what it's worth 30 mins does seem short if you've got kids or the elderly etc to get out and then back into the car, as that gives you about 20 mins to visit the shop.

Thanks everybody for your advice. My bank statement showed the transaction the day after I visited the shop. I find it difficult to get to the shop when I am working, I am not off again until Monday when the car goes in for service. So all things considered I decided to pay the fine. I got away with £60. So I will not go to the next 3 games I was going to which takes me up to Charlton. So essentially I will not be out of pocket but BRFC will (unless they sell out all games). That is my one man protest!

As Aghast says, totally unenforceable, the likelihood of the company taking you to court is almost zero, even the courts themselves discourage it. I have ignored these in the past and never paid or been taken to court, you will however get lots of final demands etc, but they will give up after a while. These companies pray on people who are frightened by their demands. Spot on Equiliser 👍💙

That is my one man protest! You just need to send the bank statement showing a purchase. They know it can be a day out and unless you are also photographed entering and leaving the next day they know you didn’t go then! Why would you pay a fine that you don’t need to pay?! Bizarre.

That is my one man protest! All is your choice but I don’t get your protest? - You forgot to enter your details into the system when you went to the shop despite there being signs everywhere and the system is in the shop entrance - You decide to pay the fine even though you didn’t have to - You say you find it difficult to get to the shop but you don’t need to go there to appeal the fine as it’s not the shop who operates it - The transaction on your statement shows the day after you made the purchase - I may be wrong but I thought statements had to always show somewhere the actual date the transaction was made for legal reasons - You must have spoken to the parking firm to pay the reduced figure as you said in your OP that it was £100 due as the 14 days had passed - You’re not going to the next 3 home games to recoup what you’ve paid denying BRFC - You’re doing this as a protest against BRFC? The whole issue was caused by you because you didn’t do something (despite it being pretty obvious and well advertised) and then didn’t decide to challenge it even though you could and would have likely had the fine rescinded and yet it’s the clubs fault and you’re protesting against the club because of this? Something doesn’t feel right here but each to their own….

Gorringe's reign of terror rumbles on. What a bizarre post? Just where is Gorringe at fault here? From my reading of it, it’s entirely down to OP? The club, Gorringe or whomever within the club hasn’t done anything wrong?

At the Cheltenham game, they read out a numberplate and asked the owner to move their car from the car park as they were blocking someone in.
Then someone started the chant “we’re Bristol Rovers, we park where we want”
I think we know who it was now …
Dexygas!! 🤣
Edit: just poking fun, don’t mean it personally!

Left my car overnight in a pub car park once. Next day I flew out to Thailand for about a month with a few of my Hombres. Totally forgot about it. When I got back I was slightly concerned that my car wasn’t in the driveway……..luckily there was a nice letter from the Metropolitan Police informing me that my car had been abandoned at The Plough in Beddington and could I possibly remove it……..I didn’t get a ticket.

The screen to enter your number plate is at the end of the counter so you can enter it as soon as you walk in the shop, you don't need to wait until you've finished paying.

A lot of places (pubs mainly) have been using this system for a long time now, it’s not like it’s a brand new alien concept to the majority of people & the club communicated the change as much as they can. Plus it is INCREDIBLY easy to use and equally as hard to miss as you walk in the door.
Definitely don’t blame the club for bringing it in after so many p**s takers have been blagging a freebie for so long.
