Both of their goals were avoidable. First one was appalling. The second one they just pinned us in and just kept peppering the goal. As others have said, before the stoppage things were good. I’m just resigned. JB was the only manager who I hoped would have the connections to get us some better players. If we go back to AN other manager with this ground, we might as well resign ourselves to league 2 as we can’t survive in league 1. Absolutely terrible given we have a fan base comfortably to support league 1 football but repeated failure and inability to get a ground, it’s just perpetual rubbish. We could always try to do what a lot of other clubs do and just hoof it to remain mid table. I’m seriously at the end of my tether with rovers. It’s been 25 years since we were any good. It’s like this club has a curse while the club next door gets a revolving door of cup ties and money men. Probably at a bad point but I’m close to say “fk it” I obviously won’t but it’s how I feel. I can’t get the energy to hope or care anymore. Chin up mate we’re on a bad run but have been more league 2 than league 1 over the last 20 odd years and although it’s dreadful at the moment we are league 1 and 9 points above the drop so it generally has been a lot worse . It’s hard to see where the 4 or 5 wins we need are coming from but if we can get them ( I think we will just ) then we’ll start again in league 1 next season with a clean slate . This season was always going to be difficult I said when the final whistle had blown at the end of last season that “ this team would make top half next season maybe top 6 but it won’t be the same team because we won’t have Taylor, Thomas Anderson or Connelly” Well we got connelly but he’s lost without Taylor and our squad is much weaker than it was and add to that the Barton / Belshaw fiasco we’ve got problems yeah. But overal this seasons points tally so far has been what most expected so it’s not like we’ve been in the relegation zone all season. All is not lost but Barton needs to turn around the terrible form or he’ll either get sacked or we’ll go down or both. Hopefully he’ll sort it. Dunno why he didn’t go with what he did Tuesday , it was back to 433 today and very poor.

Pathetic and I called them out for it told them it was pathetic support and to get behind the team on the pitch , I’m not an aggressive bloke but I stand up for what I believe in and I believe in loyal support but it really made me ready for a confrontation and not one of them stood up to me and made their point they all looked at me and turned away. It watered me off more than the result to be honest and is the sort of thing I’d expect from the sh** not our own. Don’t get me wrong as I’ve said all along Belshaw wasn’t the problem with our goals v record and was bloody fantastic last season and our best defensive player this season keeping goal behind a shambolic defence and defensive midfield and it was / is a mistake to make the change Barton has made but you support your players or you keep schtum you don’t do that if your a proper supporter.

We may have the expected points tally but I'd sooner be in Burton's position, picking up points and moving up the table rather than losing and dropping like a stone. Since Thomas departed we've lost 4 and drawn just the 1 game. God knows why JB thought the problems were all down to Belshaw.

You could always rely on Thomas or Gibson to win aerial challenges in defence. Now one has gone permanently and the other may well be for all the injuries, and we are left with Quansah and Connolly who arent commanding and tend to get bullied on the pitch

Yeah I dunno , I don’t think many who have watched every game as Barton and the rest of us have thought it was down to belly. Last season we all thought Taylor and Connelly were great but Belshaw wins player of the season , that’s some accolade for a keeper playing behind a good couple of central defenders who everyone agreed were a good partnership. Then we lose our best one - back to stoke - connellys form drops - Belshaw still making match saving saves - Barton hangs him out to dry in the media, drops him and brings in a keeper on loan who is trying his best but hasn’t been as good. The form goes from 18 points from last 12 games to one point from five games. Barton’s cocked up there’s no other way to put it.

Morning Guys and gals, I’ll start the matchday thread for this week. Have a really positive feeling about this one given how solid we were against Ipswich on Tuesday. We’ve been shy on the goal front of late so I’m not predicting a high scoring game but I do think we will get back amongst them so will go for a 2-0 win. Let’s all have a good day, safe travels to both sets of fans and UTG!! Jonah! Are you going to start the Oxford matchday thread then?

If Barton continues to give the pre match opposition team talk in his Friday BP interviews, results like today are bound to happen. We are lumbered with him now, he runs the club from top to bottom, makes every decision on and off the field. I think we should run a sweepstake on how long it takes you to post on here when we lose. Happy how things are going Tilly?

Defending for both goals was embarassing. We really are in trouble. Can't see us getting out of this bad run.

After their equaliser that was as poor a display from a rovers team as I’ve ever seen.

Horfield pops up with a one line post when things aren't going well. He doesn't post about the games, he doesn't engage in discussion - he's like a kid who runs into a crowded room, shouts a rude word, and then runs back out.

I do agree with horfield on one thing though, Barton needs to cut out dissing the opposition before a game. It just gives them extra incentive to put one over on us and we look like mugs when they turn us over.

For me, Barton's done quite a lot of good stuff, and some stuff that's not been great - (I'm only talking about the football related things).

Rovers: 62% possession, 2 shots on target Burton: 38% possession, 9 shots on target
Same old story i'm afraid. Hoping Gibson is back as he will make a difference in defence, until the next injury I guess?

Just off the steps as you walk in from the concourse. Not a good vibe and it certainly doesn’t help when the team is lacking in confidence. Times have changed since the Twerton days I’m not so sure our support is any more loyal than the six fingered knuckle dragging sh** heads anymore.
