I really do wonder what our club are up to when a brilliant opportunity comes around to sell a new kit and what have we got.... NOTHING. Barry Bradshaw and your so called Committee hang your heads in shame. Isn't it about time you came up to the standard of your Supporters? Even Grimsby have managed to get their New Kit out early. Even if we go up there will NEVER be a better opportunity to sell Blue and White quartered shirts. I understand that we will be playing in the Quarters at Wembley and I see that all that will be produced are a small supply of YELLOW shirts which have been worn this season. Why Oh Why do you expect Supporters to purchase a bloody Yellow shirt when our colours are BLUE AND WHITE QUARTERS? ? There will be in excess of 20,000 lost or possible "Supporters" turning out and Wembley and yet again our Marketing has fell miserabley short.

That is the shambles that Boycie and the others are. It amazes me that any of them are successful businessmen.

It's absolute horse sh*t, I'm not the sort of bloke who wears replica shirts but imagine how many kids going to Wembley will want Rovers shirts and over merchandise?
But instead we stock some w**k looking polo shirts made for 40+ balding middle age ale guzzlers..

We didn't rush out our new kit last time we were at Wembley did we? So why would we now?
May well be a missed opportunity to sale a few more I guess, but perhaps it just wasn't physically possible??
I will be wearing my old school 1994 away beauty anyway!

When 82 played Stoke City in the Autoglass Final in 2000 they won the toss to play in their home kit, however they waived that so that they could produce a one off mustard yellow kit with blue stripes down one side that was only going to be used for that game. They sold thousands. I wouldn't want us to copy this one off kit idea though unless it was predominantly blue.
Then again we are talking about a conference play off final here, if we manage to win this game and return to the football league I certainly wouldn't want to go around wearing anything that reminded the world that we were ever a non league club! If we get back in at the first attempt I think fans of 90 league clubs might never remember that we were ever that bad!

I'm sure at wembley 2007 i remember seeing people in the new 07/08 shirt so i feel like we did release it beforehand that year. I distinctly remember thinking how nice it was.
I don't want to be too critical at a positive time on the pitch for the club, but any idiot could see we were likely to be in with a shot at the title/play-offs/a play off final and the possibility of getting more of this seasons home shirt should have been sorted months ago for this eventuality

our current shirt sponsors are for the season, surely it would be a breach of contract to use next seasons shirt at wembley....
as for grimsby they have the same sponsor so not an issue for them....

The 07/08 kit was released early but fans were informed it would not be worn.

I commented on this a few weeks ago on the 'missing a trick' thread.... I've looked online at the Club shop several times this Season wishing to purchase and there has been very little stock available for months now. Surely our 'marketing guru's' must have had an inkling for quite a while that there would be a good chance we'd be involved in the play offs? It looks like a few rushed out polo shirts and jester hats will have to do..!! Completely agree with nick4gas, don't want to criticise for the sake of it at a very positive time for the Club, but it does make you wonder sometimes.

I emailed the club yesterday afternoon asking about shirts (If they will have anymore available and what price), and got the following reply
JUST KEEP AN EYE ON THE WEB CLUB SHOP STOCKS GOING IN ALL THE TIME
KAY
Someone needs to have a word with the marketing people at the club as they are clueless.

Reminds me a bit of when I went to the travel agent and asked if they had any flights to South Africa, and the assistant said, 'No, but we've got some to north Africa.'

I will be wearing my old school 1994 away beauty anyway! Why not check your facts before posting something which is clearly wrong as I've the photo from our last play off final to prove the club were selling the following seasons shirts before the final, perhaps it helped Cowling were our sponsors!! At the end of the end if Grimsby can apparently do it why can Rovers, isn't BB even directly connected with our shirt suppliers?? Shirt sponsorship doesn't come into it as the players won't be wearing next season's shirts, and clearly we can't sell any more of this season's if they're already sold out.

I like the careful wording: ‘Wembley Finalists 2015’. In the far future when our Utopian descendants send robot archaeologists to dig for football memorabilia, they will be discovering Gas shirts alongside Arsenal and Aston Villa ones, and wondering which of the three were the best team.

Surely a phone call to our kit suppliers two weeks ago would have got the ball rolling! "If we make it to Wembley, how many home shirts can you produce by 10th May?". If the answer was none, then drop them for next year!!! 500 kids shirts would have done, and sold with £5 profit on each one. We just don't get it! Future fans at The Mem or Ashton Gate! Hello.......marketing? Is any one there? Bradshaw out & take Watola with you (that's for last years lack of planning!).

The problem we have Steve is that our shirts (the famous quarters) is not a "run of the mill" design like the Grimsby design. forget about the logo etc they are put on afterwards. I would like to bet the Grimsby's shirt was from stock and ours have to be made specially for us, hence the longer timescales.
Now our "yellow" shirt is a standard design and is able to be produced and printed with a simple "Wembley 2015" logo quickly...

I'm sure some statto on here could tell me how many months of the Season we were in first, second or Third place in the league and looking nailed on for a play off place.
Any decent marketing dept would have been on this months ago.

The real issue is that everything is now made in the far east and they can't get them quick enough.
If they were made down the road it would be much easier.

If you inform any decent supplier, regardless of geographical location, months in advance that there's a very good chance you could be able to shift around £40k + (1000 x £40) of their stock they will soon have them delivered.
Surely that's one of the reasons why the orders are placed abroad in the first place, cheaper product with quicker turnaround.
