It seems fairly certain that our glorious leaders alternative plan is to build a greatly slimmed down version of the original plan for UWE. But what use is it to us? Our biggest asset is that we are from a big city ( sorry about the word) and therefore have the ability to attract large crowds if we become successful. If we are restricted to a potential capacity of 12-15,000, it means we will never be able to generate the funds to secure and sustain football in the higher divisions, and therefore condemn us to remaining forever in league 1, league 2 or, god forbid, the non leagues AGAIN. The beauty of scheme A is that it was basically going to be funded in the main by the fact that Sainsburys were paying so much for the Mem. If that falls by the wayside and the Mem sells for less then surely we have to cut the cloth accordingly - or am I missing something? What is the point in building a bigger stadium if there is not the crowd or income there to payback any finance deal that would have to be brokered to afford it . Surely we are better off having a smaller more affordable stadium , - which could be developed and built up if indeed we do start to climb up the footballing ladder.

Reduced Capacity! - Split ownership! (possibly 3 ways) - No Car park revenue! - Reduced income streams! And this is his so called 'Promised land!!!! ' To be fair - Yes shiny new stadium But we may as well stay at the mem! And yes i agree with the OP - "NH is leading us into permanent lower league football ?" and i'm extremely concerned that with so-called Plan B we will end up being RagBag Rovers forever!
Edit: Oh i forgot you can probably add an 8 lane athletics track to the Plan B too! That should help our atmosphere at games - NOT!

There are other ways of getting UWE built 'to original description' Higgs is desperate and is acting like a desperate man - i didn't say i wanted to develop the mem i said his Plan B is like staying here as it is! The club will have no increased revenue

If I had his money I could. You probably could too if you think about it. What I am saying is that if we don't get the stadium based on the spec already agreed, it's doubtful it would ever happen thus the reason for the thread name. Think about it, we would need more planning permission, a new agreement with UWE to allow it, (it's their land remember) and it would show ambition. What I find staggering is how many people are prepared to accept second best. We had, and possibly could again get permission to make the Mem an18000 capacity stadium. Why are we so beaten down that we will now accept even less? I assume if the plan B is for a 10000 seat stadium you will again be happy with that. Who will own it? Us? Remember that we have no money. So when the original contract with JS was signed you would have known they never had any intention of building a supermarket on the mem, that they were just making sure they outbid their rivals to stop them building. If that is so what are tonights winning lotto numbers because you surely must be able to see into the future

You must be pretty crap at most things that you do then and tell lies all of the time and not just most of it. I work for myself, my house is nearly paid off, I have money in the bank and I am 43 years old. Personally I think I have done alright. Do you think you are the only one in that position?Still doesn't mean you have the ability to run a football club

This is shamesburys fault not Higgs ( my opinion )

Have I missed something as I haven't actually seen any details of what plan B involves. If anybody has actually seen it perhaps they can enlighten us.

Exactly what I was thinking, have seen nothing about this plan b anywhere whatsoever, so is this just thought up off the top of the op's head just for a rant or is there actually hard facts written anywhere that this is what's going on?

Assuming we all accept that plan A was selling to Sinsbury and moving to a new 22,000 all seater stadium. Then surely whatever else we do will be plan B even if we do nothing.
